Using excess BF for gainz?

I wouldn't eat in a surplus if you're 15% bf. You really have two options. 1. Recomp, eat closer to your estimated maintenance. or 2. Focus on dropping more bf by creating a deficit. I know we all have our goals and it sounds like you really want to add more quality mass. Like what Rick was saying it's easier to add muscle and allow your body to metabolize fat when you're leaner so cutting further to around 10-12% at least, then adding in more calories, and using cardio/training to further control fat gain would be a better case scenario on putting on size than eating in a surplus now at 15% bf. Just my thoughts bro.

Wow that's going to take me awhile.I don't think I've been @ 10-12% since I was 16 years old.Ouch.I guess I'll just up the cardio & wait til I'm at that level.I wanted to start this Fall but it'll probably closer to Winter.

Okay thanks Testdude,So do you think a 300 calorie surplus would be a good medium to put on some LBM on a bulking cycle?

15% and you should still be in roughly a 10% deficit. Get down to AT LEAST 11 before a lean gaining phase. Just my two cents :).

I'm already hungry all the time since starting this new job AND that's even after I upped my calories by 600 or so.It shouldn't be too hard.We came this far afterall.I'm just going to wait til I'm at 12% before I start the "big boy cycle". :)

Ya...your in a bit of a different situation with your next cycle.....if I cut to 12% I would weigh 140....aint gonna happen
 
I'm 5' 10" 168 @15.5% BF....do the math....LOL....my own fault for being a drunk for 35 years.....a dumbbell...not even once.....;)

Whoa you weren't kidding when you said skinny-fat.Those are crazy numbers.You need some steak eggs & tuna pronto! ;)

In the past Month I have upped my calories almost 1000 a day and still stay the same weight!!
Although I was on SR, I have been off for a week tomorrow, Friday is weigh in and BF readings.
I'm also on the heavy sarms stack now, I'm sure thats all gonna change..

That's cool man.I remember you saying something about RAD-140 @ 30mgs a day.I'm sure that will help you out a lot.

Well I know you've heard it before brother.. it's a marathon not a sprint. It may feel like it's taking a while cutting 3-5% bf but you'll be much happier with your end results if you approach it this way. You'll be able to solely focus on adding quality size and still keep everything lean making any "clean up" at the end very easy. Just take your time, bust your ass in the gym, be strict getting your cardio in, and eat properly. You'll get there bud.

That's a great stack man.If you have any aches & pains,you'll notice them go away after a couple of weeks on that mk-2866.I love that stuff.It had all my joint pains basically disappear.I'm going to run it with everything.

That's the way I look at it....I have a long way to go with ALL sorts of time to get there....this lifestyle is all I do anymore.
Keeps me out of the bar...away from the dealer....and that one chick with the bowlegs......;)
 
I'd love to be at 10%.My ultimate goal is to be big AF in the single digits though.Even if it's 9% I'd be happy.
I hear that. Size isn't hard for me to put on but staying lean, that's a bitch. I'd rather stay lean and grow from there at this point
 
You would have to burn more calories working out than you eat so yeah maintenance wouldn't be right but your BF will add to calories technically. But you can gain muscle on a deficit if your protein is high and you're working out right. I'd go heavy.
