Best sugar substitute to cook with

After my competition i'm going to start baking high protein, gluten free desserts/sweets that are low glycemic and healthy. I'm not gluten free by choice, I have a severe sensitivity to gluten and cannot eat it. I have coconut nectar which I was planning to use instead of syrup, honey, agave. Was planning to use truvia for baking with as I hear it is the best tasting replacement and very low glycemic. Also have seen a lot of people bake with xylitol.

Run from truvia bro its almost pure erythritol not stevia i used for a while and started having major stomach bloating and digestive issues found it too be the culprit stopped use all is better

Jack is right... i dont even touch them when they use dextrose or erythritol... i ONLY use sweet leaf

This is spot on truvia is erythritol not stevia and the stevia baking blend is basicaly just splenda with a dash of stevia just enough too put it on the label sweet leaf is good shit no digestive issues or hidden calories

If you want sweet with low glycemic then that leaves out honey, maple syrups, or any sugar whether it be from coconut, or brown sugar etc. Your best bet would be the sugar alcohols, like sorbitol, xylitol and mannitol. These do have calories but are good on the GI index.

If you want calorie free or on a keto diet you would have to use sucralose. Not the stuff on the market called splenda, but from bulksupplements.com, buy sucralose. It is two molecules of sugar with the hydrogen atom replaced with chloride ions. Kind of like fusing sugar and salt together. It is so powerfull that to sweeten your coffee you use the amount that fits on the head of a flat toothpick.
If I amdoing low carb my preference is to just not sweeten anything. I drink lots of brewed tea and enjoy it with a twist of lime.

Sucralose kills beneficial gut bacteria from what I've read. Chloride or chlorine? I need to read on it some more. I stay away from Splenda personally. I don't think it's good for you. I could be wrong though.

As a male, I never use agave nectar. Societies that use agave as their primary sweetener, produce men with low t and high e. Or, at least that what I have read several times. We even stopped serving agave at my smoothie bar because of the bad rap it has.

Stevia works great and so does honey. Stevia is better for low GI though.

MCT oil is the shit! Definitely recommend baking with it.

You can also bake with protein powders. The best brownies I make are made with chocolate whey powder and MCT.

When the element chlorine changes its valence state it is no longer chlorine, it is chloride. Just as table salt is sodium chloride.....not sodium chlorine. Chlorine exists as a dangerous gas. But hydrogen is every bit as dangerous, yet it is every bit of food we eat. So it could be said that the hyrdogen from the sugar is replaced with chlorine. But we know we not are eating toxic gases so it is chloride. That is why salt is not called sodium chlorine, but rather sodium choride. The chlorine has been chemically attached to the sodium element.
There is a guy named Mercola who is not well respected who makes all kinds of claims about artificial sweetners. The flora in the gut thing has been disproven.
Even snopes writes about "the dangers of splenda" Most of the bogus research is paid for by the sugar industry. And if I were on a diet and had to loose weight I would use and all of those sweetners. The dangers of obesity are far worse than splenda.

Lol right mercola is often called a conspiracy theorist like myself. Although the studies still show that Splenda is bad for gut bacteria. I actually trust mercola very much. He knows what he's talking about. Gut bacteria is 80% of your immune system so it's incredibly important.

But actually you're wrong about Snopes. They say that Splenda is safe and the studies that show it's toxic are lies.
