Will I keep my gains? The most abused and misunderstood questions known to man...

This question is asked on a minute to minute basis and may just be the worst question possible. There is no such crystal ball that can decipher how much you will get and how much you will keep... There are ideas on what you could potentially make in terms of gains but this question is one of the few I look at as a bad question... It is more so the phrasing and the thought behind... The better question is, "what are the possibilities of what I could obtain from use." etc... Let me answer in short...

WHAT YOU KEEP DEPENDS ON YOU!! Yes, some steroids, supplements etc... have better characteristics in terms of cleaner gains but what you keep is on YOU... First and foremost, when thinking about "keepability" you need to address HEALTH AND RECOVERY FIRST... If you are not protecting yourself on cycle and running an extensive pct or proper trt regiment, you are FAR less likely to keep anything. Recovery is integral in terms of keeping anything... If you do not recover, then how can you expect to make progress? Without health, you have nothing... Beyond this... You need to MAINTAIN consistency and intensity in diet and training... You cannot expect steroids or supplements to do all the work... YOU have to put in the time and effort... YOU have to maintain the discipline... GETTING THERE is the easy part... MAINTAINING is where you earn what you get... Then it comes down to accommodating your wants and goals... Adjusting caloric intake, training needs etc... You have to find and implement what works for you and stay consistent... Yes, if your using a wetter compound, you tend to lose SOME water but it does not mean you have to LOSE ALL YOUR GAINS whatsoever... It's HOW you do things that will determine this... Attempt a short cut and you will learn the hard way... Do things right, work hard, stay consistent and you will be far happier with the outcome... Implement proper bridge cycles in between cycles... Push yourself harder when off cycle... etc... There's a million ways to maintain, clean up and add to gains... Use the right supplements, train the right way, diet consistently and you will be where you want and ultimately achieve more than expected...

150% agreed.

This is the most absurd question asked on the 'net. Why don't you just ask who's going to win the Stanley Cup, Super Bowl, and World Series in 2061?????

Re: Will I keep my gains? The most abused and misunderstood questions known to man...

Not only a question, but used as a statement as well, had plenty of people tell me to keep it natural or I would lose everything I gained

Dylan, if I run test cyp for 12 weeks at 200 mg. Will i put on 25# and drop 5% bf and then when its done not run a pct and keep all my muscle gains but drop the water weight. I really need to know before I start my cycle which I already purchased which includes tren e that I'll run at 100mg EOD for 16 weeks. Let me know. Any advice is awesome. I can't wait to get started.....

Re: Will I keep my gains? The most abused and misunderstood questions known to man...

I see it as 3 steps up and one step back. I don't lose gains. In fact I feel like I lean out a little between cycles.

Re: Will I keep my gains? The most abused and misunderstood questions known to man...

My trainer / dietician says it is 80% diet, 15% exercise, and 5% genetics and gear to get you to your goals. He says the gear is just to help you overcome limitations placed upon you by genetics - but without a good diet you will never get anywhere and without the exercise you can only go so far.

I never really put much thought behind the question "will I keep my gains" or such...but reading your expose on it, you are right. It is not possible to say. You can say "this is a wet compound, so you will certainly lose a bit of the gains since they are actually just you storing water and not muscle anyway", but not quantify it to a number.

Great write up!

Really nice post and your trainer/dietician is someone I would actually like to meet or talk to because he clearly shares the same beliefs I do and I LOVE IT... That is EXACTLY on point... Steroids and performance enhancers are they for the ones that have completely maxed out their individual growth and genetic potential. Performance enhancers help to surpass and solidify but they cannot do all the work... YOU have to do it and YOU have to ensure you "keep your gains." The power and probability of such an occurrence lies within YOU, not the drug or compound. YOU ultimately decided this answer based on your work and effort...

Based on the numbers provided, coupled with the ultimate goal and the lack of desire to do a pct AND run tren for that amount of time I would have to go to magic 8 ball which reads "All signs point to "no."

The magic 8 ball may come in handy for a lot of these questions!! LMFAO :D I feel like I need one when I get this because it is a question that is more suitable for a psychic...

JUST REMEMBER THAT "YOU" ULTIMATELY DETERMINE WHAT TYPES OF GAINS YOU MAKE AND KEEP!

Re: Will I keep my gains? The most abused and misunderstood questions known to man...

This is definitely a question that asked far too often, usually by the newer members, and those new to gear in general. I understand their position as they want some type of "guarantee" to what they will get from a cycle. However the truth in the matter is that there is no guarantees in this. You have to pour every ounce of sacrifice in terms of diet, training, supports, PCT, etc into this to get the most out of it for your goals. Even with everything perfect, it is all still individual specific and things like genetics are something you can't change.....ever

I never want to get upset or be one of those assholes that treats people bad for asking a question but this particular one just brings on the need for some "tough love" as we term it!

Re: Will I keep my gains? The most abused and misunderstood questions known to man...

Since this is important, I wanted to give it a BUMP.

I agree on that... I know we kind of joked about this but it needs to be addressed... It's a big problem and a question that needs to be understood so there is not so much confusion and an understanding on what actually determines sustainability of gains...

Re: Will I keep my gains? The most abused and misunderstood questions known to man...

It all comes down to making your body take on a permanent change. That being proper gains. Not dirty gains. Proper pct to keep your system going so that your body doesn't drop all the muscle. And continuing to train hard even after ur off cycle. I see too many guys in the gym for two months they are huge and then get small and then get huge. Its improper usage. And probly damaging their body more than they even know

You have to find and implement what works for you and stay consistent... Yes, if your using a wetter compound, you tend to lose SOME water but it does not mean you have to LOSE ALL YOUR GAINS whatsoever... It's HOW you do things that will determine this... This is very well put. This is exactly why it is so important to learn how to make and maintain gains natty. If you cannot make and maintain gains as a natty then you are doing nothing but gambling with your health for no reason because you're not going to magically learn how to keep your gains overnight with ped use.
