Creatine Question

I have been using 6 Star Creatine from Walmart. I switched to Optimum Nutrition 100% Micronized Creatine this week. Here's the rub and my question.
The Optimum Nutrition 100% Micronized Creatine does not dissolve as good as the 6 Star brand. I can not get the ON creatin to completely dissolve no matter what. The 6 Star I could get to dissolve in a few minutes. Does this matter? Is the 6 Star a better creatine because I can get it to dissolve fully? Are there better brands out there?

I am using the straight monohydrate from both brands.

Am I splitting hairs? Please advise.

Thank you for your replies.

Micronized means that that is as small as it gets, meaning it doesn't dissolve. I've used ON creatine before it works just as good as any other.

I think micronized is bullshit. Your stomach acid is going to dissolve the stuff anyway so how small it is going down doesn't make a difference. Just my 2 cents.

If the other worked better for you on mixing just go with that. I doubt there's any difference on quality really. Creatine mono is creatine mono.

im sorry but both of those brands, especially ON are very very very poor quality... you dont have to spend crazy amounts of money on creatine by any means but neither of these are a brand i would go near... thats up to you but ON is one of the lowest quality companies out there period.. your better off with the six star to be flat out honest...

Dylan...I use ON Whey Protein. Can you recommend a protein powder and creatine mono for me?

Thank you!

I like concret for creatine. And carnivore brand for protein powder.

I have always used creacore by muscle tech and just recently started using muscle tech platinum creatine. Both seemed pretty good to me and dissolve really well.

No supplement beats hard work

Thank you for the replies. I thought ON was good stuff. I did my research too. Heard a lot of good stuff about Concrete. I'm open to trying a new whey protein. Let me know what you like.

Thanks Again!

I am extremely surprised to hear this. Every single account Ive ever heard is that they are expensive because they are one of the best supplement companies out there, if not the best. Care to elaborate? Id love to hear your insider knowledge.

Personally although my son uses protein powder/mass gainer to supplement his nutritional requirements, I feel that we (enhanced lifters) only need this stuff commercially for those times when we can't eat a meal immediately. I worked out this morning, wrapped up and ate a steak with some legumes. I got everything I needed nutritionally in the best form available... a meal. Sure it'll take hours to digest, but assimilation began almost immediately. My hunger stimulated a bunch of things such as my own ghrelin, my initial feed jumped up my igf-1 and gh and synthesis effort of the foods I ate (proteins/carbs/fats) which will become essential amino acids. I, IMO, have a jumpstart before all of this by drinking aminos, both essential and non, during my workout, which again IMO contributes to the best possible use of my meal.

Here's what I get but 44's right.A meal is the best thing for you.Supplements are convenient way of supplementing protein when you can't eat.Meals are the real deal.I mix all this together with unsweetened almond or coconut milk about 30-40min before I workout.I don't like having a full belly before I workout & on cardio only days I'll usually train fasted.I'm sure there are mixed opinions on that but it works for me.

the beauty of mainstream marketing... when you are the size they are, they can afford to get mainstream marketing, reviews etc... i work closely with many reps from many of these companies, i know who has quality and who does not etc... for example... some of the most mainstream companies with the WORST quality and cheapest powders... BSN, ON, Muscle Milk... these are literally the worst of the worst... i wont touch them... now thats not to say there are not good companies out there... Cellucor makes a great product as does allmax and bpi sports... these companies make a pretty good product...

i do not use mono whatsoever... its more sloppy etc... i only use creatine nitrate... concret does make a good product... i stick with nitrate though... if you want a more main stream line, then cellucor and allmax make a good powder... i prefer www.truenutrition.com You get what you pay for and they have the quality and you can also design your own... im sorry, some say it does not matter but when im taking in anything, i want my body to have the best quality and true nutrition is a place i KNOW delivers on that...

They are good and you get what you want and only what you want because you pick each ingredient. Especially with the bulk powders/supps. Used to order from these guys when I was in Afghanistan and forgot all about them till now.

I like the isopure unflavored protein... have some now for quick absorption on the go. Mix it with water and swig it down.

I've tried mixing it with water. It's just too frigging watery for me.You get a few more grams of protein with the almond/coconut milk too & it tastes a helluva lot better.

absolutely.. being able to design your own its a huge deal and having that kind of quality on top of it... i absolutely recommend them as one of the best out there
