Bodybuilding diet

Hey guys just wanted to discuss the bodybuilders diet. I've just seen the new video by Dylan and it seems that he is very adamant about clean eating. I tend to have a more flexible approach meaning I make sure to get a good amount of fiber fruits and vegetables but I don't like the idea of clean or good and bad foods. I'm not an advocate of getting fat by any means but I used to have anot eating disorder caused by being scared of foods and never ever cheating because I was scared it would somehow ruin my physique but now I got over that. I don't think the occasional cheeseburger or sweet indulgence is bad by any means but it doesn't seem others feel the same. I'm not talking down on anyone by any means I like to let others live life by any means with whatever makes themail happy but I'm just saying to me sometimes that burger once in a while makes my day. I think bodybuilding is much more than just one burger I think if you're consistent and can have a good amount of willpower and discipline then you should be good in the long run. Hope u all have a good day. And please no hate on this post I don't mean it to be disrespectful in anyway to anyone just posting some thoughts of mine good day.

Agreed 100% . I think Dylan advocates clean eating due to the numerous benefits it has. Most flexible dieters don't understand the importance of micronutrients which is why clean eating hails king especially if you want to have a healthy, functional body. I myself get into these periods of obsessive clean eating where I eat like it's a god damn science study. And while the urge to cheat isn't existent. I do notice once I revert to a looser diet, I tend to cheat a lot more. So ultimately I've learned that I enjoy cheating when I want, sometimes I just adjust calories for a couple days following, or play basketball the following day to burn off any excess. It's all about how you feel mentally at the end of the day, gains set aside.

Yeah but I feel people get obsessed I mean I'm not saying do not eat vegetables and fruits but I'm saying get the recommended amounts and if you have the macros and calories left over for maybe some cookies or whatever u can fit in why not do it? Idk I enjoy a more flexible approach to my diet

Well it's because most flexible dieters do fit gaps with sugars...sugars are terrible no matter how you look at it I'm sorry. And if you think about it, recommended amount's of veggies and fruits etc are for a 2k calorie diet for an average person. I don't know about you but that's not me. 2k calories is not close to my daily needs and I'm extremely active. My body needs 2x the amount of all daily micronutrients in my mind to be healthy. So it's kind of wrong to use a general guideline to base your needs.

Kevin levrone eats 2 plain hamburgers for his first meal everyday

Sugar is sugar whether it comes from fruit or from a candy bar and if u know how toften properly dose different nutrients etc a candy bar is not a bad idea after a training session as fast carbs are best after a workout I'm just saying man that is the mindset I'm talking about. Excuse after excuse for not having something we crave. Let's face it as humans we like things that aren't so good for us. Which is perfectly OK. But if u look at the big picture humans also think we'll if this amount of this is good for me then oh well tons of might be 100X better. But that's not the case. Hence the reason therected are people who take 4 multi vitamins a day because of that ideology. I'm just saying man enjoy life and don't be too uptight. Enjoy life still train hard but don't take yourself too seriously. I used to be the same way and would never cheat buy now I enjoy a casual cheeseburger every now and then since I'm on a cut. It's harder to fit one every here and therected but I'm happier that way.

For my upcoming recomp, I have a nutritionist putting together a set of meal plans for me, for basically off day, light workout day, and heavy workout day.

I meet with her monday, I'm curious...

You mightt be taking the video a little out of context. It's more about dirty bulking which is a completely different concept than dirty bulking. Dirty bulking is about eating crap or whatever you want all day long....not counting calories or macros, etc...

I'm a flexible dieter and have been for years. I maintain a bodyfat percentage of 6% to 8% year round, so I know exactly how to correctly implement flexible dieting correctly. By default, to make my macros come out correctly, I eat mostly "clean", but I do fit about anything into my macros (especially my higher calorie workout days) including burgers, pizza, ice cream, pasta, whatever....

I know some people are religious and regimented with their clean eating. Dylan is one of them....and that is fine. It is also fine to allow leniency and freedom in your diet as long as you know how to do it correctly

your missing the entire point BIG TIME.... im saying that people that "dirty bulk" think that its a license to eat anything and everything... no self control, no care about anything but slamming anything and everything.. fat size is not good size... you absolutely need to have cheat meals and enjoy yourself... the point here is that you can't think that a "dirty bulk" is a license to eat mcdonalds, pizza, ice cream and whatever every single day because you claim you going for size... you missed the entire point of everything being addressed... i never once said you have to eat perfect day in and day out... thats far too much for people... i may do it but i dont recommend it... i know what it can cause for people and its not easy to deal with... i can handle it but most would never have a chance... there s a HUGE difference between having cheat meals and having ALL your meals be cheat meals...

What puzzles me on a clean bulk versus a dirty bulk, is if you are eating at a caloric surplus, whether the calories excess are clean or dirty, isnt the end result the same? You will put that excess into fat.

Am I missing something?

No absolutely not its not all about a stupid caloric surplus all calories arent equal. When clean bulking I actually ( maybe bro science but this type of dieting is indorsed by coaches that train pros) eat high carb very low fats and protien stays the same about 1.5 grams per lb of lean body mass the reason low fats high carbs is insulin raise is needed too stay in that anabolic storage mode however that works both ways you could be storing protien and glycogen in your muscles or fat in fat cells . sure lipogenisis can occur from extra carbs . but fat is stored easier and carbs are burned easier and if your bulking you should be training hard and heavy too grow and if your nubers are right you will not only burm those extra carbs youll need them too push through those intensive workouts.

A dirty bulk thats just about calories is gonna be filled with shit protien sugars and lots of saturated fats . were not 40 year old moms on weight watchers . were trying too build quality muscle that requires quality fuel.

I stopped buying the protein power crap. I eat the fish, rice, banana , egg whites, pineapple, ice cream, and trenboloni. Don't eat like a porker or you will get fat even on the trenboloni.

a dirty bulk, which i wouldn't even call it, because its basically just a "license to be a lazy fucking pig" and a cleaner style of bulking are completely different... NO, they do not just turn to fat whatsoever... there are obviously different types of calories... 220 calories from a candy bar is far different than 220 calories from chicken or fish... so to even think they are one in the same is beyond puzzling... clearly, taking in all the extra sugar, saturated fat and every other piece of bull shit is going to store as fat but nothing from the chicken is going to... its not even comparable...

So for a clean bulk, the calorie excess does what and goes where? Sorry, just trying to understand this.

i always have everyone start at 500 calories above maintenance and then assessing from there to see how your body responds while still keeping calories cleaner...

I was just trying to understand. I didnt exactly do a clean bulk, but it wasnt a pig fest though either. I wound up about 50/50 (12pd muscle, 12pd fat).

I'm meeting with a nutritionist today to work out my diet for my upcoming recomp(lgd/s4/rad/gw/SR/Osta), I'll have heavy workout day, light workout day and no workout day plans.

I'm using body weight x10 for base metabolic, since I'm almost 60 and have I would assume a fairly low metabolism. So shooting at just over 2k, then -500 calories deficit, then add 500 or 200 to cover heavy and light workout days.

Was debating perhaps even going -250 instead, as I've worked my ass off to put on that muscle, and wanna loose the least.
