Best friend wants to commit suicide, HELP

If she has been at her job for over a year then she can take emergency family medical leave. If she files for it before she goes into treatment then it will be illegal for her company to fire her and she will be given a certain amount of time to return to work. I forget how long but its like 6 weeks or something.

Another obvious thing here in addition to the already mentioned... Spend time with her and while doing so do your best to determine what's missing that has caused these feelings. Help her feel less alone and hopeless. Try to help her see a better future and ways to walk the path to it. Breed positive thoughts and give companionship and a caring ear that's always there.

I give this advice after a personal experience with my best friend who came to me and disclosed that he was contimplating suicide. I spent tons of time with him and got him on the path to get his son back in his life, helped him see a happy future. So far so good with him. But yes, definitely seek professional help as well.

My Dad does suicide prevention hotline counseling. For the most part, those hell bent on suicide, just do it and no one saw it coming. Those who discuss suicide, or try/fail, are the ones that are just asking for help.

Yeah i took her to the gym last night and spent some time with her. She seems a bit better, somewhat willing to make plans in the future but she admitted she's still considering it.
She just started a new job where she thought she would be making more b/c the commission structure is better than the last place but shes having a really hard time hitting the numbers b/c of management. She was making like 95k at the last place and now shes down to 60k.
Then she let her insurance lapse and totalled her new beamer, she cant figure out how to get out of that mess, it's pretty fucked.

She just thinks its the only way out of all of it even though she's got so much going for her, it's a rough spot but I know she can make it through.

Well it sounds like you can make a difference for sure. Sometimes people just need help to see a way out. Keep it up. Keep reminding her of what she has going for her (we all have so much more than we realize). Help her envision the future. If she's really a good friend your time is nothing compared to the difference it can make in her life.

There's more jobs out there, a car that runs still gets you where you need to go until you get a better one, and the future can offer so much for us we never know is coming. Sometimes just hear things enough and knowing someone else sees it and believes in us helps us do the same. Keep it up bro, you're a good man.
