why can i not set an avatar

Avatar go to Settings at the top right>Edit avatar is on the left side half way down or so. It is on mine.

theres a thing that says do not use avatar and it is greyed out

Im glad I caught this thread. I have the same problem, if you good bros can help, RR or TX. I go to edit avatar & its set to (do not use) with no other options. I have the pic on my profile but thats as far as I can go..

You cannot deselect it until you actually have an avatar bro. Look just below that. You need to use that to either upload a photo from your computer or use a Web address to upload a pic
