Who else collects guns?

AK all day.

Personally I don't own any but I would prefer an AR .223 (I'm retired military) But Semi Auto shotgun would be an AK. ARs are more accurate IMHO... better fire discipline... with the shotgun.... AK all the way... do you have any slide stocks??

did you get the RAS47 or the C39V2?
the C39V2 seems to hold up pretty well since it's a milled receiver, but century has had a lot of issues with the heat-treating of the Trunnion, bolt and carrier on the RAS47.
AK Operators Union has put out a number of videos on the issues they have seen with the RAS47 that you may want to look into.

The accuracy difference between the two really stems from the ballistics of the cartridges. 7.62x39 is usually about 125gr where as 5.56 is usually about 55gr (standard mil-spec ammo), 5.56 shoots a lot flatter so you can reacher a litter farther with it. 5.45x39 and 5.56 are pretty similar while 7.62x39 is closer to the 300 blackout. it really just depends on what job you want it for. any decent 7.62x39 ak should be able to hit a man-sized target within 300m. if you have the right rifle and match-grade ammo you can push an AR out to about 800m but past that the projectile isn't really going to be effective. honestly for anything past 300m I'd prefer a .308 (7.62x51).
for reliability, you just can't beat an eastern-European or Chinese AK of any caliber.

AK's are less accurate than an M4/AR model, but I've drug AK's though jungle mud so bad its clinging on the weapon and they still cycle. Never pull that with an M4

Which do you prefer in a real life situation..the AR or AK

Depends on the situation. Desert? AK. Jungle? M4/AR. The more grit and grime the more you need an AK. I've seen some badass carbines that are as good or better than an AK though. M4s are not so reliable. Need a damn barber brush and oil at all times to keep an m4 going.

M4 rounds are too unstable and easily thrown off axis. Not good in jungle at all. Been there, seen it, done it. Maybe the newer rounds are better. But the old 55's were not good jungle rounds.

In fact, one of the best jungle guns was an M1 or M2(select fire M1), would punch through any brush. Lightweight, and damned near bombproof.

Maybe I should rephrase...what u prefer for here in America when the Shit pops off....no jungle/dessert

I have a number of pistols and like a few others on here I build my own ARs. Can do it for so much cheaper then buying in store.
