Hi there, I could use some help. I was getting ready to run an anavar and test cycle, which was recommended to me by a new lifting partner. I am currently overweight and was assured that this would help me trim down on the BF%. After doing what cant even being considered a minimal amount of research, I had him order me both the var and test, along with a PCT. After some hesitance by my wife I decided to do a more adequate amount of research and discovered Dylan's videos, and consequently this forum. I've looked into the shelf life of everything I bought and it seems they will last long enough for me to get in shape and do this in a more educated and safe manner. Thats where I could use the help. Here's a little bit about myself.
I'm 25 years old, about 5'11, and was around 285lbs last july. Currently I'm 235lbs, and steadily dropping after a little break over the holidays. Not sure of the BF% but obviously its up there. I'm no stranger to exercise, I was a "professional" mixed martial artist(fought at 175, and once at 155), but after a few life experiences, and an embarrassing PPV loss, I stopped fighting and became a blob. Now that I'm back to a healthy lifestyle, my diet has been going phenomenally. Low carb, high protein, although no real specifics to speak of at the moment. I will be going over my macros next weekend and dialing everything in. I'll probably post that on here and get as much input as possible. My original plan was to run 40mg var daily for 7 weeks with 250mg of test.
I'll be as clear as I can on this, I will NOT be running this cycle until I feel 100% safe with myself physically and with what I add to this cycle to keep myself healthy. I bought it so I want to do it, but I'll just concentrate on getting educated until I feel OK with doing this. In Dylan's videos, he said a lot about various different pills I never heard of when talking to my friend. I was under the impression that test, var, and a pct was all I would need. So here's my questions:
How would you run this? As I said, I was going for 7 weeks at 40mg var, with 250mg test, and a clomid PCT. I know Dylan's videos elaborated on this, but for me it was decently overwhelming with not knowing a lot on this subject. I'd love a bullet point list of what I need to buy to add on to this to make it safe.
What would be a good ballpark goal weight/BF% for me to shoot for before running this?
It's clear to me that I bit off more than I can chew. Any help would be appreciated. Maybe guidance towards good websites/threads that I can learn more from. I understand that this is not a weight loss forum, so I wont get on here and ask how to get rid of love handles two months from now, but if it doesn't break any rules that I couldn't find, I'd like to start this as a progress tracker towards this cycle. I'll go back to watching some more videos now, and hopefully by the time I'm ready I'll be a f***in expert. Sorry for the length of the post, looking forward to learning more.
