How much protein should you be taking in per day? A new video by Dylan Gemelli

There's a lot of debate on this subject so I'm happy to see this video. It's extremely important to get the right amount of protein per day. Too little or too much....both are very problematic

YOu can figure out how much protein you need by how well you are recovering. The amount of calories you need is WAYYYYY more important than the amount of protein. im fine on the 0.6 to 0.8 grams per pound a day while bulking and about 1 gram per pound while cutting

I personally wouldn't recommend ever going less than 1 gram per pound

I've found a good area is between .8g-1.3g for me. Varying on whether I'm cutting or bulking. But I agree total calories is more important when bulking.

I had a friend who did quite well on .8 grams per lb. I guess it varies from person to person. Personally, while on aas and knowing that my protein synthesis is elevated, I'm going to take full advantage. 1.5g for me :D

Yes, I agree you can gain muscle on less than a gram per pound. However, I think it's ideal to have at least a gram per pound of lean mass....not necessarily bodyweight.

Obviously somebody with high bodyfat that's 300 lbs doesn't need 300 grams minumum.
