Just wondering how often do you stray off from your diet? How does it make you feel being how you are busting your ass in the gym, taking pills, injections, liquids, etc.

I ask, I am in no way a strict clean eater as you can tell in my off season weight. Lol..

I started a new job as a merchandiser for Coca Cola, I'm at work at 4am sometimes 5am, working no less than 8 hours. I drink coffee black, take my multi vitamins then off to work. I'll have a shake or Aminos around 6 or 7. 10 oz Deli cut turkey, baked lays around 9. For lunch I had lean ground turkey, green beans. With all the work moving soda and water and shit, my appetite grew. I grabbed 2 filet of fish, no bread today, felt okay. That's only thing I eat from McDonald's. Then soon as I got off, hit gym and stuff. I put in great day of training, but feel like shit not because of the food, but lack of will power.

Just sharing my day. I know I fckd up.

i dont know how to relate brother because ive been pretty much eating the same shit everyday for like 5 years now so i cant really relate... i just dont deviate ever... thanksgiving and then my wife and moms birthday, my birthday and our anniversary... those are the only times i will even eat out and when i do, its not like a cheat meal... i even make special requests on what things are cooked in etc... i dont know bro, just how i am...

If you're getting down on yourself for not adhering to your own diet... Don't. Just think of all the fat, lazy people out there eating shit all day every day and not exercising in the least.

Unless you're preparing for a competition eat whatever you want within reason and in moderation. You could honestly lose weight while eating just McDonald's, but it would have to be in moderation and wouldn't be advisable.

Don't get down on yourself. Keep all things in perspective.

Yea Dylan if I can eat the way I'm supposed to like when I'm 4 weeks out, I'd be a stud...sad part is when I have to eat clean and don't deviate, I can. I have goals, but I honestly th8nk I take for granted how quick I can whip myself right. This is coming from me who used to be 265. This was 2yrs ago at my worse. I refuse to ever go back there. I guess today, I'm just struggling with the inner fat boy in me. Lots of ppl said I had good genetics, and I always tell em yea to be fit or fat.

everyone here has had a down point brother and its good to go back for added motivation or when we slip... i am not even worried about you.. you are going to be just fine but if you need me to talk or whatever, just let me know bro... i got you
 
Also, look at the choice you made. You could've said fuck it and went with a big mac large fries and an apple pie then washed it all down with a large diet coke. Because you know a diet coke makes it all better. Lol
You didn't. You still had the will power to make a reasonable choice from the options available. And more importantly... You hit the fucking gym!

I had to indulge a little myself tonight. Been a long fucking day. Just got over the flu and now I'm trying to recoup a few pounds I lost. I usually stay away from pastas but I can feel my body craving some extra carbs. Had to stop at my favorite Chinese/Thai place and get some chicken pad thai with extra eggs. Not per my usual diet, but sometimes you gotta stray...

You have the potential to make some major waves in Classic, but diet is going to be CRUCIAL. Prep or offseason, I never leave my house without 3 meals MINIMUM.

Tupperwear, an igloo cooler, and plastic utensils are your best friends.
 
Hey man the food struggle is harder than the gym for most of us!!!!! The gym gives instant feedback while food feels like youre missing out on something not gobbling the shit down. If I eat like shit during a day then I have no motivation for the gym that day. It goes hand in hand for me. Today was a shit day for me as I couldnt dodge freakin chocolate. I swear it was chasing me. Tomorrow it will be better! I have no desire anymore to get in to single digits and enjoy 12-15% bf living as it allows me a cheat saturday. I pig the F out. Definitely wont see 9% bf on it but Im cool with where I am now. Dylan on the otherhand is simply a freak. Its why he is Dylan and we arent.....lol

Well, I'll tell you my experience. I am a firm believer in IIFYM and planned cheat meals. Right now I have about 3-4 a week to be exact, and I'm hovering around 8% bodyfat...maybe 8.5% at the most. The way I look at it, is life is worth living, and it's good,to indulge every now and then as long as you know how to set limits and implement it properly. All of my cheat meals are on workout days where I need the extra calories anyways. I feel like I really benefit from those meals. The extra carbs fill me out and help my performance and fuel my workouts. The last 8 weeks I've gained about 4 lbs but got leaner....even with these cheat meals.

Sometimes I think people can overthink everything and become too obsessed with going the 100% clean route. For some people that may be fine. It's whatever works for you and what makes you happy. I know in the past I had a real hard to,e making gains when I stayed clean all the time. During prep I even have cheat meals, but it's usually once per week.

Yea, I feel you. I'm 37, giving myself till 40 to make waves in bodybuilding. After that, I'll stick with 12% too. I'm definitely going to stop wasting time. Like Dylan says using is almost pointless if you're diet ain't in check. I appreciate all the feedback guys.

That is normally my philosophy too. I'll tell you, my worst food honestly is chips. I rarely eat bread. I'm up and down on IIFYM. I wholeheartedly believe in it, like you say, as l9ng as its not 100% crap or fats. Thanks man.

My pleasure brother. It's all about tracking it right, And putting those meals in there right. When you do it that way, IIFYM makes dieting a much more enjoyable experience

I stay strict Sunday am through Friday evening. I'll allow myself some treats from Friday night through Saturday night, along with my normal clean meals. I don't think eating like a robot 100% of the time is healthy or good for the psyche. Live a little, life is short. That being said, do what works for YOU. If you can eat like clockwork and not stray from the diet at all, more power to ya. Do it, the results will reflect that. I know what I can get away with (been thin and lean my entire life) and I do what I have found works for me. I also usually work out on days I indulge, and almost always my workouts are the best ones of the week. Go figure.

Dylan..I am the same as you man..I a hve a cheat meal a week not day...and thts it..I weigh and all my food out at every meal ..no exceptions..I have eaten been for couple years...even know vacation I will prepare food and bring it to take with me to places..yes even on the plane ride I will bring my Tupperware with food.....I a hve gonadotropin moths with out cheat meals and land it doesn't bother me.. my coach currently has me eating 1 cheat per week tho, so ik exactly what u r talking about...to put it into perspective the people at my work were doing secret Santa's and the present I got was a 5lb pack of chicken, that is how well they know me..haha, so I'm right with ur thought process on the dirt..I think it's very very important to stay on track and prep and weigh ur food out and be prepared even when it is in inconvenient...so keep doing what ur doing..I hope i meat a girl like u have that totally understands me lifestyle and choices..that would be amazing

3 Large pizzas WTF lol that would give me the worst acid reflux. I can kill maybe 2 pizzas in a day but not a bite more haha.

I work construction so in the decent weather months i am really tight with my diet. But during the cold months and being that i don't work with heat in buildings i give easy a but cause i need a little fatty layer just for insulation and for my metabolism to use it to keep heat. When i know weather is getting ready to break i tighten my diet up and lose the extra % i have to have for the winter. I don't eat bad by any means, but i do indulge a bit

It was over the course of the day. I just had a strong urge for pizza so I got 3. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I stopped after 1 and had the others throughout the day. My weight the next day was only up a little over a pound. I'm on a lean Deca bulk and usually keep my diet fairly strict so it wasn't the end of the world
