Hit the gym today with the one guy I train with when our schedules allow and I gotta say this, usually I don't like training partners as they bend and break and this guy is the exception. He's a power lifter I know who will do his best to go toe to toe with me in the gym and we always push one another with extra sets, reps, or upping the weight to amounts that usually ones mind would say "fuck that" too. We trained back today and we fucking killed it. Fast tempo, heavy weight and no mercy. Here I am basically 12 hours later feeling and looking like we broke the gym. Fed as soon as I got back from the gym and three meals later I gotta say that I can honestly say we earned our paycheck today.
It's good to have a wo partner that is just as if not more crazy than yourself. We did more in one hour than every other serious lifter in there does in two hours and when they stop and comment on what's going on you have affirmation that it was something beyond typical. I usually like to hit the gym earlier, but today I promised him we'd train back together. God bless power lifters, although they aren't the most aesthetic looking people, they put in their work and it's nice to not to have to swap plates out and all that other dumb shit like worrying if your training partner is gonna tear something. I'm gonna make it a point to adjust my times twice a week in order for us to be able to train together as I know working out with someone capable and like minded is always a plus. Point is that you get out what you put in and today The 44 should be cashing in on sheer brutality by way of weight raining. I needed this wo today... sometimes all you gotta do is be pushed. Today's wo will definitely yield some growth.

I finally talked one of the guys at work, who also uses our small ass work gym, to do some workouts with me. Well now three weeks later he calls and texts several times a day commenting about lifting. We have both definitely pushed each other for more. The guy is short and broad. I'm at least 6 inches taller and he's got strength on me. But I've been holding my own with him for the most part. I'm definitely going to be focusing on my shoulders in my upcoming test deca run because that's my biggest weakness.
Good write up though 44.

Thanks and it's good you have someone to give you that competitive push as far as weight. Sometimes a lil' competition makes the difference especially when enhanced. Definitely focus on areas you deem weaker, I did the same myself a few short months ago as my traps over powered my delts and now you can see in my avatar it's damn near reversed lol. Good luck on the Test and Deca run... love me some Deca.

I love lifting with my lifting partner. Help push each other, talk out theories etc. But I also like lifting alone, I'm ultra focused when alone. I can't say I like one over the other.

I'm a fan of both... solo lets me concentrate strictly on what I need. Having a partner, a great one, can be great as well... just almost impossible to come by.

Some people need that extra push from a workout partner to help them...and it can really make a difference. It doesn't quite work that way for me, as I prefer to work alone, but if you find that right partner that's on the same page as you, it can make a world of difference

This is the truth. I lifted with a guy for like two years. His commitment was different than mine. Almost afraid to push the limit, a huge mental block I think. Eventually his schedule changed. Since then he has drifted from goal to goal, never meeting one, and program to program. It's been about a year since we lifted together, and he has regressed IMMENSELY, where I have continued to progress on my own. Now I have a new partner and the gains will only increase because of our like mindedness. If you aren't progressing, you're regressing.
