What's everyone's 1RM on Big Lifts? Tips?

I've done 225 x 19 before . My best friend from high school did 225x 43 . Set an all time record at his college at UTC. He was linebacker never weighing more than 230-240. Strongest person I've ever been around. He was the kid in 6th grade before puberty beating up 8th and 9th graders .

The 30 reps was a fuck around warm up. Coulda did more, but 43? Fuck that my mangina mighta opened up and swallowed me whole just for thinking that shit.

I agree with this completely, as soon as I switched things up and went to 5x5 for a month, my strength and numbers went up noticeably. I usually stay in the 8-12 range but 5 reps reps that are heavy as fuck will make you grow and get stronger.

Ibe made a ton of progress in both size and strength since incorporating 5x5. For me... the need to evaluate my 1rm is to stay within the 75-85% of 1rm range... which, in my case, has gone up since starting. I guess you don't NEED to evaluate it but I choose to do so and I have been lifting with a few powerlifters recently who have pushed me in a different direction and it shows in my physique.

I also just like to move heavy ass weight so maybe that's all I'm trying to do really

Definitely stick with it if it's working for you. Another thing is you're pretty young and can do that. Once you get over 40 years old heavy ass low rep sets can wreck havoc on your body a lot more. I still love lifting heavy, but I try to make sure I get at least 8 reps
