That's true, but you tend to see quite a few ppl trying to ego lift/swing db's around like it counts as a rep even though they're probably recruiting stimuli only over 20-25% of ROM. I witnessed a guy curling a bar using hip swing, bouncing off thighs and his shoulders. Ugliest shit I ever saw.
 
I still end my arm workouts with a couple of 25lb dumbbells & do failure super sets.Today it was seated incline curls followed by behind the head extensions.
 
Another great finisher on arm day is the standing double bicep cable curls to the sides of the head! And for tri's, dumbbell kickbacks.
