True sign of strength

I know we all have our own opinions on what muscle look best. But there is absolutely NO denying that the true sign of strength is big traps, big forearms, and huge calves. Abs are cool but if you're under 225lbs, you should be able to see your abs anyway. Besides, nobody can see your abs through a shirt but they can see when you have huge traps and forearms. Abs come from a strict diet and lots of cardio and minimal ab work. Huge traps, forearms and calves come with years of heavy deads, squats, rows, pull ups, calf machines and lots and lots of food.

Have non of those, and I probably dead, squat heavier then most on this board.

Ummm I know the majority of guys under 225 have no visible abs without strict diet and training. Pretty vague statement to say anyone under 225 you can see there abs.

We all get it, your a big boy. What's the point you're making? I'm sure guys with abs will let you know it took years and hard work as well to have them. Of course good genetics play a role but the same can be said for being big.
Agreed, I struggle in the abs department as they tend to be visible a month a year and that's with a strict diet. All my fat deposits around the mid section. So it's not as simple as it should be or a lack of hard work.

To each their own, but I'd take an aesthetically pleasing physique in single digit bodyfat any day of the week over sheer mass. I'm not knocking anyone that goes for that. It's just not for me. I'll never be 225 and never plan to be. I'm only 5'9" around 200lbs 8% and I'm pretty damn big. 18" arms on my frame are huge. I don't have any plans to be much bigger than I am. Maybe another 10 lbs total, but I absolutely love the insane vascularity and deep lines and striations on a chiseled physique with respectable muscle mass. That's my shit right there. And being able to bench over twice my bodyweight I don't really think I'm hurting for strength either lol.

You're a huge dude man, and I respect that a lot. I'm just saying that look isnt for me or everyone. Some just want to lift heavy, some guys just want to be really ripped, and then you have people like me in the middle. I like to have good size but not too "freaky". It's not healthy for your body or heart to be 300 lbs. It doesn't matter if it's fat or muscle. Your heart has to work harder either way.

I like when I go to the pool or walk around in a tank top all summer and turn heads everywhere. The classic bodybuilding look is my goal.

It all comes down to different strokes for different folks and we all should respect each other's goals

Lol Did I knock anyone? Why do you always have some negative shit to say everytime I post? Haha

In the bodybuilding aspect of this post, why would you train to not build decent mass? If you can pull dumb weight and not care how to properly build mass, you're a powerlifter, not a bodybuilder. Nothing bad about that though. You hit a most muscular pose and don't have traps or forearms, you look off. Regardless if it's classic bodybuilding or not. Arnold and Franco were "classic" they had mass and looked great. I never understood the reason of saying "I'm going for the classic look". Check Arnold in a most muscular.. Sheer mass. Robbie Robinson, insane. If you can't add mass then that's just a cop out. Anyone can if you train hard enough. So please don't twist my post around thinking I'm dissing anyone. That's petty.

I didn't say you knocked anyone , but you did kinda mock having abs saying anyone under 225 can see them anyway. It's just an ignorant statement that's all and completely untrue. Trust me, I bite my lip on most of your posts, not even going there. Sorry for the negativity, lol/ truth.
I would rather you HOLD your tongue and stop commenting on my posts lol

Yes they had sheer mass in a perfect way. That's exactly the look I aim for. Arnold was 6'2" and 225 stage weight. That's nothing today when guys are 300 on stage and look like utter shit. Bodybuilding has went the wrong direction for quite some time now

Arnold Competed at 235lbs. It's funny how alot of guys claim beast mode until it's time to lift some beast weight and build a beast body, then everyone's like "I'm not built for that kind of frame" lol

I was a powerlifter, now I just lift weights. I have no interest in bodybuilding, but I can appreciate guys like Rick who put all kinds of dedication into there passion.

Depends on the olympia. His competition weight in his first couple Olympics was 225, but regardless we are talking 10 lbs. Lol. Being tall at 6'2" and competing at that weight is not huge. That's my point. Mass is not won his Olympias. He won because he was fucking Arnold and looked phenomenal. Lou dwarfed him in size

Probably a shot at me which is fine, im used to it but i can tell you this and ill slap money down on this anytime... theres a shitload of guys with bigger traps than me, bigger chest, arms and ill punk them on lifts right now and like i said, ill bring my cash on that... yes size would indicate someone likely has strength but thats like saying the biggest guy on the football fiels is the best, strongest etc... im sorry but im taking von miller, cam chancellor, jj watt, clay mathews over guys much bigger... they are stronger, meaner etc... just because someone is bigger doesnt mean jack shit necessarily and vice versa... ive seen guys very large in better shape than guys that appear half the size and you would think in better shape... its way too generalized of a statement... ive seen guys in the gym that ate so stupid strong that appear to be far weaker than they are...

Lol, I see the thought process, but I've always had huge traps and I'm black so my calves were always a bit smaller than some dudes... but I was a fast ass sprinter. Now I knew guys who just had what I called huge calves and were born/blessed with them. You and I do agree that muscularity/size are achieved thru grueling ass busting sessions in the gym and heavy ass'd weight... we'll always be on #teamLIFThuge lol, but there are those dudes that are predetermined to have the look of big traps/calves and haven't lifted shit lol. I feel where you're coming from though.

True statement right here, appearances can be deceiving. I think it's all about ones goals. For me personally I just want to be a little bigger then most and a little bit leaner and stupid strong. I think I am well within what I set out to do. Now I have a new obsession, grow these arms a little bit 17.25 inches that's all, I want for Christmas

Lolll you will get it, im sure of it!

Lets look at reality... you know how many basketball players look like the goofiest ass fucks with the likelihood of being non athletic etc and then they get your ass on the court and fucking destroy you... you have to be very careful generalizing because theres far more to it... one of the best arm wrestlers i ever saw was half the size of competitors bur he had strange strength and the technique... he was working in a garage on cats from when he was twelve... big traps didnt win him all the events he won etc

I saw this going the way it is and we all just gotta remember that what matters most to our sport is that people are passionate about the lifting. Dylan and I had a conversation several months ago where I stated that I couldn't quite wrap my brain around taking gear and not being huge AF. He expanded my thought process and I realized that if the industry was dependent on guys like me and AA to keep it going it would fade away as bigger guys aren't the trend right now. Now I love my size, but admit openly that RR is where it's at aesthetically. If I could have my size and his symmetry Geez...., if I could lift my shit and show off abs like Dylan... I wouldn't own a shirt period. We all just have to realize what makes this sport so great is the variety. Someone called me an ungrateful pussy for not being satisfied with my size because people dream of having my proportions... I chuckled because they are a pro bodybuilder. We all just need to appreciate the different aspects of what it is we do and recognize that to some us bigger guys are fat sloths whereas some bigger guys think some folks are tiny. I personally want the best of both worlds.

Hell I ain't gonna lie if I was as tall and naturally big as AA you couldn't tell me shit either lol...
