Lol. Trust me that was just a personal goal of mine to get back to. I'm still sore and tired courtesy of my dumb assed in laws calling at 7am. My bench pressing will be regulated to lifts of 450 and under here on out.

Sorry fellas was posting some shit, answering Q's and pissing on fires.
Today was a strong fucking day in the gym... 500 x 1, 505 x 1. Then I decided that if I pushed anymore weight I might shit all over the bench and floor. I think what got me extra fired up was the fact this dickhead hater was in the gym that whispers behind my back that I'm 'on something'... well it was confirmed today bitch "I'm on a whole new level". I wanna get a Go-Pro and either a head band, or chest band so I can document shit now that I'm officially strong again. My hands hurt, shoulders are exhausted, hell my whole body aches and I'm tired AF from today. Thanks for posting the encouraging words brothers, I appreciate it. Hell my knees even hurt wtf...

No doubt the combination of Valhalla, Federal orals and a lack of common sense made these lifts possible!
Congrats bro! Way to get it done! I'm only playing with 300 and I feel the same. Awesome. I loved your description of how you felt after. You put everything into it. Well done!
You got that shit man! Looking forward to the completion post, 500 aint got shit on you bro!

Wasn't able to log on yesterday but congratufuckinglations! That is a monstrous lift. I do not see myself ever being anywhere close to that. Currently I'm 200lbs below that on my max lol. But dammit man that is awesome.

Thanks bro, you've always been supportive and a good dude. Granted this lift was a goal of mine to be able to dip back over the 500's again and now that I've done it... at my age and the physical duress it caused lol- fuck that. That's for the well wishes though bro. It was a good feeling to have done it and had so many witnesses.

Yeah, it's cool to look it at that way about 2.5 pounds on each side not being s*** so you get your 500, but as i'm sure you realize, the gains are in those 2.5 lbs. Those Scooby snacks are significant. Shoot, even the rare 1 1/4 lb. plates are significant for increasing strength gains.

I read a study a few years back that said the body was unable to notice a 2% difference in weight. But for the life of me, adding 2% or even less, has made a total difference and made me fail several times lol. So I'm not sure who they used for the study lol.

That's absolutely right. It's all progressive overload and increasing that weight over time. Small increases equal big increases in a given time span

Come on Saiyan, it's common fucking sense. We're talking about increasing maximum bench. Think about it, if your stuck at let's say 300 lbs. for weeks, months on end. You increase your poundage as small as you can. Because if you can't get 305, you sure as hell ain't going to get 315. You also have to consider range of motion and correct form. You don't just throw on 20 pounds. EVERYONE at some time or another will benefit from that. That "article" you read is very vague sounding. Don't believe everything you read. Don't be that guy. Don't do half reps and keep your ass on the bench! Lol!

By the way, they make fractional plates for powerlifting/strength training in 1, .75, .50, and .25 pounds! I wonder why?

It's because the heavier you go, the more significant the lighter increments in weight are. Common fucking sense.

Congrats 44! Riggo!

The above is very true when it comes to heavier lifts. I've noticed anything over 475 regardless of the increment feels heavier than it is at "lower weights". So a 2.5 lb plate somehow "feels" more like 10 lbs mentally the higher you're going so to say. Thanks also bro!

Oh I absolutely agree lol. I was saying that the study was almost moronic. Because at some point, that 1-2% is clearly way above. It was a decently written article but I can't remember all of it. That's not saying I agree with it at all. As mentioned, it wasn't true for me. Anytime I want to raise my max bench, I really have to grind that shit out and work. There is no tricking going on. It's all iron ounce by ounce.
