The Importance of a Rest Day: A new video by Dylan Gemelli

Do you take enough rest days during the week? Do you understand how much time you need to let each muscle group grow? Learn these answers and much more from my new video...

The importance of a Rest Day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f07M0WSKpvY&feature=youtu.be

This video is EXTRMEELY IMPORTANT and I hope everyone has a chance to watch it. As I always say, sometimes less can be more. You grow in the kitchen and while resting....NOT in the gym

i learned the hard way about not taking rest days etc... you should honestly be taking 2 rest days a week... if your not, your not allowing yourself to grow and your probably overtaining and actually causing detriment... you dont want to get lazy by any means but you need rest to grow and to just let your body rest... we are not machines, which i have a hard time understanding, but we have to take care of ourselves and take all the necessary measures to ensure optimal growth and longevity is obtained...

I've gained 17lbs since October and actually trained LESS! It's the only thing I've done differently than other cycles really. I'm 100% convinced it's extra rest and just being generally happier than in the past. 5 of those pounds was after my bulk was over and training actually decreased in intensity. I'm still in shock over how successful I've been. REST IS THE MOST UNDERRATED NECESSITY!!!!

Truth! I preach this day in and day out to people I work out with. I lift only 3 days per week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with cardio on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and my weight training sessions are only a little over an hour long.....so that's a little over 3 hours per week of resistance training where other guys are working out on weights 2 hours a day 5 days a week and they ask me how the hell I grow so damn much at probably twice the rate of them or even more.....there is the answer! I give my body the nutrients and rest/recovery it needs.....and on top of that it's not how much you train, but how you train.....and everybody that knows me knows I only train like a fucking animal!!

Yup. I used to train 7 days a week for 1.5-2 hours a day about 5 of those days and I was lean as fuck but never grew. I've grown more in the past 6 months than in the previous 6 years of training with AAS. Now I train 3-4 days a week and most times 45min-1hr max.

i trained 7 days a week too... 6 days of lifting and 7 of cardio.. its just too much man... i do 5 days of both now and am in better condition now and my body thanks me for it on top of it... you will notice a lot of aches and pains disappear and you give yourself the ability to really grow... many of us overtrain and we have no idea we are doing it...

You can say that again.

i really hope everyone takes the time to watch this video... it can save many of you a lot in terms of saving gains and allowing you to achieve much more... many of us have this problem of not getting adequate amounts of rest and we never reach the potential we should because of it...

Good vid and very important. I workout with weights M,W,F and cardio Tue,Thurs. When I used to train ED I always felt crappy.Another reason I did not like tren when I was younger is the constant sleep pattern interruptions. After a few days of sweating all night and walking the floor it all becomes catabolic. You heard the saying no pain no gain, but I always say no rest , no gain.

I couldn't agree with you more Drb! Your workout schedule sounds almost identical to mine!

thats a strong schedule and your right... so many follow the no pain no gain mentality but you can still suffer through the pain while making sure you get plenty of rest as well... every time you are in the gym, you should train as if it were your last and get the very most out of it each and every time...

I hate rest days but I love lifting the next day, it feels great.

I used to hate them because I felt like I wasn't being productive. Now I love them as long as I am able to REALLY be productive when it counts with eating and rest. I had to switch my perspective to knowing I'm growing while I'm nt in the gym, not when I'm in the gym.

well said and its a hard concept to grasp and follow, it truly is but to teach it and not follow it is hypocritical at its finest and it would be detrimental as well

i love rest days. i feel stronger the next lift day. obviously from resting. going at it too hard is just counter productive.

Agreed completely. Proper Rest and recovery is just as important as the actual training itself
