t3 destroys muscle???

Hey all. So I have a problem with my thyroid hormone, its in the family, and I just read a thread saying that t3 "eats away" muscle. It is the same with t4?
I have been prescribed by my doctor to take t4 (levothyroxine sodium) to balance my thyroid levels, as I used to get fat easier, and ive been taking it for like a year.
Doctor told me that I should take this pill everyday 30 min. before eating the morning, and I do so, and my question is; what is the difference between t3 and t4 and their effects on muscle growth?
I repeat; the doctor prescribed me these pills (t4)for every day,all year round in order to keep my hormone levels in normal levels.
Thanks for reading.

It eats muscle in the person that is in a calorie deficit and isn't taking anabolic steroids and isn't eating enough protein to protect the muscle. It's very easy for this to happen because it is a powerful med but in your case you need it and so you are only going to have enough t4 to make you normal not hyper. So long story short, make sure you get your labs done regularly and take your prescribed med. you need it.

T3 is your active thyroid hormone t4 is the inactive version that converts this is what is most commonly prescribed for hypothyroidism usually the brand synthroid your dose is going too be what is naturally produced by your body too verify the levels are correct they will watch TSH this is the hormone produced by the pituitary too tell the thyroid too produce more t4 . they are not any more catabolic than cardio they dont attack muscle they control your metabolism when taken in superphysiological doses and dieting without enpugh protien they can eat muscle but no differantly than being in a deficit and doing an hour of fasted cardio . if your being prescribed it and need it take it . I do recommend seeing an endocrinologist first though as your primary dr will usually base entire diagnosis on TSH and there are other factors and hypothyroidism is commonly misdiagnosed .

if used at too high of dose and there isn't enough food you WILL lose muscle, even if on AAS. You need to have high enough calories with t3. I see 50mcg a safe dose with t3 and you will keep all your muscle as long as aas is in.

Yes but that is still a superphysiological dose hes going too be prescribed t4 at physiological dose this is fine

Also if you were tested after a long period of dieting and you lost a significant amount of weight this diagnosis is false and you should be reretested after spending some time at maintenance calories that is your bodys way of avoiding deahh by starvation

Actually, I've done a cutting phase that lasted 4 months. And I lost significant amount of fat. I've lost something like 16 kg or so. Of course I was in a deficit. But when I started bulking, I got almost immediately 7-8kg in the first 2-3 weeks! I got a lot stronger of course. Anyway thanks for your advices, I will ask my doctor to simplify the situation and how I can cut without lose muscles, of course without AAS because I'm teenager.

If you are prescribed it, you are going to need it brother. T4 is not the same thing as T3, and at the doses docs prescribe it shouldn't cause you problems. Just stick with your prescription buddy, and don't be alarmed

What are your stats bro when you say cut i think of going from 12 too 6 percent bodyfat if your bodyfat is higher 17 too 25 percent then traditional cutting diets would be bad especially for a natural more of a lifestyle change most people are used too eating crap full of sugar and fats . if more than 25 lbs too loose you want a diet thats just below maintenance get rid of simple sugars and keep it clean but get enough too be close too maintenance create upur deficit with cardio and high volume training at your age biulding muscle while simultaneously loosing fat is easily acomplished and it has a much faster effect on your body composition and wont wreck your metabolism. Dont over restrict right now that will do worse than good . and getting below 5 percent bodyfat natuaral without loosing any muscle is not possible so dont try too get that lean . use your pubic hormone spikes too grow natural muscle youll easily keep after puberty . good luck bro
