I like to use either baby wipes or everclear and maxipads..
seriously tho, i use rubbing alcohol either 70 or 91 % and paper towel and also prep pads. I have both, but usually go with the first option as i like to wipe a larger area

prep pads of course, most common and easiest/cheapest method. you can get away without using them but that is the same philosophy of not aspirating. for an extra 5 sec it is worth the added safety precaution.
baby wipes? lol, i use baby wipes after i Crap but thats about it. dont knock it until you try it, i cannot poop without baby wipes anymore.

Ushally soap and water. The needle is sterile don't see the need really. As phurious said we where injecting dudes with IVs in Iraq and Afghanistan in some of the most filthy conditions and non of them got infection from the injection.

I rub down the injection area because there are over 1000 species of bacteria that call your skin home. I also wipe the septum.

^Indeed, infection is nothing to play around with and does not take much.. talk about ruining some gains, an infection can set one back or worse. I would never pin without sterilizing thats for sure.
^Agreed, out of sight out of mind is never a great perception when it comes to infection. This is something people will not want to learn the hard way, ive seen it before and it was nothing nice. Thank god it was not me, ive learned from others mistake on this one.

For sure.I have two docs in my family and they say hospital policy is absolute on ipa. All you have to do is google what bacteria live on human skin at all times.
DrB wipes down his patients before any injection. He once told me to take a course in micrbiology. I was in Animal Science but I took the course.Holy crap! We did one experiment where we swabbed our skin and grew it on agar overnight.Some students got arms,legs,behind knee, butt area, underarm,delt etc. Everybody grew stuff. Some were even carriers of strep and staph. Take the time and swab buds. I have on occasion shot up in the shower, so no ipa then.

Did they cheat in nursing school? Cause I got 2 docs and a vet saying to swab.
I wouldnt take the risk either way, sterilization is critical in my opinion.

Why risk it? It takes literally 10 seconds.
If you push something nasty deep into your tissue you're fucked.

I'm sure you can get away 99.9% of the time with no issues pinning without cleaning the injection site first, bit there is still a miniscule risk there of infection. I know guys that reuse syringes (not the tips) also to save a few pennies. I just don't understand the logic. Protect yourself at all times. Why even take a risk? Prep pads or alcohol is cheap as fuck, and it literally takes seconds to use one.
