Lump over a week after injection

So I recently switched to using my triceps to pin and they work great. However, a little over a week ago I noticed a lump had formed. I thought it was just irritation. As of today it looks like there is a ping pong ball under my skin. I drained a bunch of oil and what looked like a sterile infection out a few days ago. So I assume that oil had become stuck in the fat layer and became a sterile infection. There is no pain or anything but the lump doesn't seem to be going away. Anybody else have experience with this? If it's still here by Friday I am going to go to the doctor.

chances are that's what it is bro... i never have nor would inject in my triceps so i cant say with personal experience but if you shook the magic eight ball, my assumption the answer would be "all signs point to yes" on your thought... :D

So wait you injected into the tricep? And it collected in a mass which u lanced and drained? If its still there id say its because its still inflamed and swollen and you should treat that area with an antibiotic oitment and also ice the area a couple times a day and it should subside. Also some advil for the inflamation

What in the world made you want to pin triceps?

I always rotate Triceps, Delts, Glutes and Chest...mostly Delts and Glutes though. They are the most receptive for me.

triceps are just very difficult in general... there's a lot of room for error there so if you can avoid it, i would bro...

How often are you injecting that you need that many sites?

Every other day.

I don't see the need for that many sites with every other day pinning. Every day would be a different story, but for EOD injects you should only need 4 total sites, so delts and glutes would be enough. You can pin each site once per week

Tris are a bad spot to pin. A lot of guys on here pin delts and I personally don't like it myself. I stay away from arms. I rotate ventrogluteal and quads. You can get great information on any normal injection site on the Internet. When I was in paramedic school it was always glutes or delts. Personally I like the outer quads because you can handle a lot of oil and you have the most control of the needle. I don't go super deep in the quads either. I only use a 5/8ths or 3/4" needle. The only place I use an inch or over is in the qlutes. Some may not agree with this but I have great results and no pip. Sometimes I change up the depth a little bit but as long as you are getting in the muscle you're good. I leave the needle in for a good 10 or 15 seconds afterward. The thing with tris is that you're constantly moving them and contracting and stretching them along with just leaning on them. That in itself can cause serious irritation inside of the muscle and piss your body off. The body heals remarkably fast and you most likely won't build up an excessive amount of scar tissue unless you are using big needles, a fuck ton of oil, and you shake like you're having a seizure. Of course the tissue with become inflamed because of the foreign substance but it's not going to scar you like you would think. Fibrous tissue is more common especially if you have reused needles in the past but as long as you're sterile and not going larger than 22g, I never go larger than 23, you shouldn't be scarring up much at all.
