Lead in Water

Turns out there's super high lead levels in the water, in several neighborhoods, here in Chicago. Our water commissioner resigned right before the results came out. Both the neighborhoods I live in and work in are at a 10 (on a 1-10/scale)!! I suspect this is why I've had blood pressure and joint issues the past year (diet always on point). It came on just a few months after moving. My dogs have had joint issues since moving too. Ive always drank straight from tap, gallonish a day. Guess its time for this old man to get with the times and switch to bottled.

Fuckin crazy though. Not counting on it, but hoping to get positive results from the switch. Anyone else go through this before?

Absolutely. I'm due for new bloods this week any way. Have to check which panels will show metal levels. I know my female hormone panel does not.

brita. lowers lead 97% average... been using one since they came out.
Yeah, I can't believe I've never bought one. They've been around what, 20+years now? The wife just set us up to get 3 5-gallon jugs delivered, every week, from Hinckley. Surprisingly, it's only gonna cost 12$ a week. Not bad.

my wife from the Philippines. had a tin hut. very poor upbringing, which is great. she appreciates everything. even used shoes from the salvation army i buy her. lol
Mines from a shit area in Hungary. Not sure why she didn't adopt the same mentality. Always wants better. Which is great, because it keeps me motivated to constantly improve. But shit, a day in the normal would be nice.

i like whiskey. been on a jim beam apple kick.
I remember a period, about 20 years ago (pre prison/cagefighting/bodybuilding) when I was a Rye Whiskey guy. Shamefully drank a litre every two nights. Id always be fuckin shit up and gettin in trouble. Whiskey is damn delicious. I gotta steer clear of it today though. Only reason I drink wine is for the blood benefits.

I can easily down a fifth a day. Lol and be fine. Not proud of that, but I am who I am. Haven't had any in a couple days though.

We all respond differently. If it's not hindering you, then you do you. I smoke a 3.5 of Kush everyday and I'm fuckin great. I have more than 2 drinks and I'm the world's biggest shit

propure water filter removes lead. defenetly worth looking into

It's from rise to fall for me, daily. It's the only thing that helps my severe anxiety, while maintaining function. I work for myself too, so no pee tests!!

This just happened in near us also. Turned out to be the underground pipes from the street to some of the houses.

Being a chemist we always worked with absolutely clean water. I now do this at home using a combo ion exchange column and and activated carbon column in series. You can hook them up with simple tubing to an existing faucet. When you buy bottled water you are usually getting city water that has been through this identical process. Same for the water places where you bring your own jugs. Spring waters are not always so great and can contain bacteria. If you are going to buy water then distilled is best, but most of these bottled waters come in leechable plastics which can be harmfull themselves. I buy mine from the link below. Call them and tell them that you want one single cartridge combo with a resin exchange and the carbon together, with tapered nipples on each end for tubing hookup. Or browse the many really good systems available. The brand I use is Barnstead

Nascent iodine brother! It's an excellent detoxing agent to get rid of heavy metal compounds in the system! There are other things that are good too but nascent iodine is fantastic and my go to for detox

Thanks Jake!! I was looking at systems like this last night. When I did the math, with 2 adults and 3 155lb dogs, 15 gallons a week isn't gonna cut it. These are also way more effective than a Brita faucet attachment.
