Laser eye surgery

I don't know if anyone has posted about this at all or has thought about it but thought I'd give my two cents. I had laser surgery just over a year ago and it was the best decision of my life. I was super nervous about it, not a fan of hospitals, surgery, anything like that but it was so fast and painless. The entire surgery lasted 8 minutes! I paid $4,300 for custom surgery and haven't had a problem since. I could already read road signs on the way home and was driving the next day. I can wear sunglasses, play sports without the annoyance of contacts, no fogging up in the winter. Waking up in the morning and being able to see is amazing. If anyone is thinking about it, I definitely recommend it, and if anyone has questions post them here.

For those surgery shy, Ortho Keratology aka Ortho-K is a non surgical, same solution. Its just temporary. You wear special contacts which shape the eye every night.

So you dont risk dry eye, haloing, etc. If you do have any issues, you just stop wearing the contacts, and your vision returns to what it was before.

My wife has been considering getting LASIK eye surgery, and everyone I know that has done it has said they wish they did it sooner

Honestly that's my only regret, LASIK changed my life.

Unfortunately I have ass backwards eyes, so I can't do lasik, nor ortho K. My corrections are + diopters, not - diopters.

Supposedly in a few years they may have a solution.

thanks for sharing bro... my wife needs it like a motha! I have never had time to really get into it like i want... my knowledge on it is limited so its nice to hear someone that had a great experience.. thanks for sharing and im really happy it went so well for you

My eyes were -5.75 so pretty bad. LASIK MD offers free consultations so I went and was booked for surgery within two weeks! Very professional, there's no better time to get it done then now, the technology and experience this company has is top notch. It'll change her life, mine was $4,300 without any kind of insurance so if you have insurance it'll be even less. Encourage her to go for a consultation!

This is something I plan on doing this year or next. I'm 28 and have been wearing glasses since the fifth grade. To be able to wake up and see without putting glasses or contacts in... damn I can't wait.

Pm me for Robolics GAINS!

It's honestly the best feeling bro, I still take time to look around and take everything in. It's a real blessing to be able to see again without glasses or contacts.

I've had lasik (PRK) and was one best decisions I've ever made. I'm hawkeye now.

I've heard the healing process for PRK can be a little rough, had a friend who did it and she said it was hell for two weeks but still worth it!

That's the best decision I've made 1 1/2 year ago, and I would highly recommend to anyone looking into it. Also do your research on the Dr first because you have some Dr's that aren't really good as they say they are.

My surgery only lasted about 15 mins but I didn't feel anything at all just smelled the flesh from the laser burning the cornea, but overall it was a great experience. It's pretty pricey which mind cost 3300 because my stigmatize wasn't as high and I was allowed to pay monthly payments of 150.00 for 2 yrs or you can come out of cash.

Caleb18 you still use the eye drops every once in awhile??

No I don't, I never have dry eyes. It depends on the person though I think. That's awesome you had such a great experience, and yes researching the doctor is a very good idea, forgot to mention that. I did the payments as well and it worked perfectly for me.

Yeah I'd be lying if I said I wasn't super nervous but you just have to bite the bullet. I haven't talked to one person who regrets the decision, thanks for sharing your experience as well!

I too feel that Lasik surgery is the best money I have ever spent. I had 20-20 vision the next morning and it has actually improved to 20-10 vision since then and has now stayed that was for over 3 years.

Like everybody else, I only wish I had done it sooner. I can't preach this enough to all of my friends with contacts and glasses.
