Insulin, Are Insulin Gains Permanent?

And also the amount of protien you can synthesize and glycogen you can store at your weight needs an amount of insulin easily produced by you own body so an extra will only and ONLY cause fat storage in your case so double bad idea cause if you havent learned too eat right and train the gainz you get from insulin will be easy as hell too keep and youll be trying like hell too loose them (all fat)

100% agreed. If youre not capable of formulating proper nutrient intake and timing your meals, quantities, and frequencies... youll end up packing on a bunch of "midsection mass." I dont advocate or discriminate insulin use, but youve really gotta be next level in terms of training and diet with a physique well above your natural potential and extensive knowledge/experience with manipulating your bodys natural insulin uptake.

Excellent point....which is why the theory "just eat as much as you can shovel in" is complete bro-science.

Spot on advice right here

Can you still gain muscle at the age of 39 naturally? keep in mind Test levels drop after 35 to 40

Absolutely. Test levels may drop from when you were younger but you can still build muscle naturally. 39 is young. If you're worried about low test, just go get bloodwork done ($50). Cheap, easy, and that will give you piece of mind knowing you have healthy levels. Just make your main focus getting your training and nutrition optimized for your body and you'll be making gains.

And that's just to maintain. I would add 10% to that to start. So add roughly 270 calories. You're looking at somewhere in the ballpark of 3k cals.

Thanks for your help I will defiantly give it a try

For sure...put in the effort, this is a job not an amusement park ride!!

You can get your calories up by eating calorie dense "healthy fats"
Avocado's
nuts
coconut oil
dark chocolate 85%

And I mean way up without eating a lot of food, be careful though don't want to start to gain sloppy mass
