Hypothyroidism..

If someone were hypo.. could they lose weight if they worked out at least 4-5 times a week? Let's say they eat only eat 3 small meals a day yet they're still gaining weight going from 138 to 143.. is being hypo something that's gonna stick forever? She started off hyper and doctors prescribed Propranolol, methimazole, and verapamil and she finished 4 months ago but fears she's turning into hypo due to the meds maybe. Simple question is if someone were hypothyroidism.. would working out be worthless or can one still manage to lose weight if they work out like anyone of us?

This really needs to be consulted with her doctor man.
Sooooooooo many factors. I just wouldn't even know where to begin.

When your thyroid comes into play there are a lot of factors. A LOT. I have a friend who is hypo and she eats very clean very healthy foods and she works out at least 4 times a week intensely and she can just not lose weight her metabolism is so slow. I think now she is taking pharmaceutical grade t3 or t4 and she is starting to have some results but like you said above there are so many different factors when it comes in with a thyroid I don't think anyone here is really qualified to give an answer like that.

Good luck and find a good endo.....

yep doc time it could very well be Graves disease my wife went thru almost the exact same thing. I know you hate to hear go to the doc but that shit will kill you or her I mean

Thanks man! Yeah I think she needs to be referred to a new endo because hers didn't help! That's the thing that sucks when you get a shady doctor or a doctor that will lie to you and tell you you're fine but not even look at you or help in any way. I'll just tell her she needs to find a different endo asap. Thanks guys!
