Fuck coinbase. They straight up turned into the PayPal of bitcoin.

They'll close your account and essentially confiscate your coinage if they even slightly suspect you of transferring bitcoin for less than legal reasons. I liked them too until they pulled that shit on me. Fucking sellouts.

How'd they even suspect you were doing anything shady? And they made it difficult to get your money back?

I have no idea.
I just got an email one day saying they were closing my account...
"Upon careful review, we believe your account has engaged in prohibited use in violation of our Terms of Service and we regret to inform you that we can no longer provide you with access to our service. We respectfully request that you follow the on-screen instructions presented when you log into your Coinbase account to send any remaining balance offsite to an external address."

It just so happens that I literally couldn't do anything to transfer my balance when I logged in. In fact my whole account pretty much disappeared. I've contacted customer service many times and they have yet to get back to me. Thankfully it was only like $30 worth of bitcoin.

So yeah, fuck coinbase.
I use Mycelium now. It's not beginner friendly at all, but it's secure and easy enough to use.

I'm getting a 404 ERROR with that link.The only time I came close to using bitcoin was with circle pay,but now I hear they don't deal with them anymore.This is all a big PITA for me being tech-challenged to say the least!

Face to face trades coordinated through localbitcoins.com is the way to go. I pay about 5% fee, but it's easy and completely anonymous. I keep a wallet at blockchain and haven't had any problems.
