Giving Blood

I'm on my 2nd blast since I started TRT in June. I have yet to give blood and have an appointment scheduled for 1 hour from now. Wish me luck, guys! lol.

Also, I should add that I just took my last injection of said blast yesterday morning. So I'll be returning to my normal TRT dosing. RBC's are probably pretty high. Had my blood pressure taken the other day and it was 121/58. I'm usually around 90 something over 50ish, so it's a bit high for me.

Do you know you're hematocrit levels and your RBC levels before giving blood? Either way if you give blood once or twice a year you'll be just fine! Good luck!

I'll never forget the 1st time that I donated; the woman is asking me some questions;

Her: "Sex, male or female?"
Me: "Male"
Her: "Sex @ birth?"
Me: "Also male, unless my mother has been lying to me all these years."

What's with this whole, "Donating burns 650 calories." deal? It would make more sense to say you lose some protein/nutrients via what is currently in your bloodstream. I'm sure it also takes some calories over the next few weeks to replenish the RBC's etc. What's everyone's take on this?

Don't think too much into that bro. Just look at the whole thing as both a good deed and a personal necessity

Well, gave blood yesterday and had a heavy squat session after work today. I felt AMAZING! Absolutely crushed it. My hammies didn't cramp up after a few sets of leg curls either like they used to lol.

Did that today! By the way, it seems like the blood place is using some large needle, cuz it hurt pretty bad. Never had an issue like this before.

Donating at LifeSource tomorrow. I always do a double red cell donation. I also took my first shot of deca today. Glad I can lower my hematocrit right from the start of the blast.

Recent studies have shown that eating 1/2 to a whole grapefruit every day can lower your hematocrit levels.The higher your levels, the more effective grapefruit will be. Include a half with your breakfast and half the other half as a snack at midday.
This is because naringin, a flavonoid seen in high concentrations in grapefruit, can lead to phagocytosis, which is a process that naturally removes red blood cells from your blood, converting them into other uses.

just a little fun fact about lowering hemo :)

I heard they are trying to recruit Kai Greene as a spokesman for the ad campaign for this.
