Have you ever considered using a sperm bank before deciding for one or the other? Not sure what the cost in the US might be but in Canada are covered by or medical plan in most cases. My 16 year old son had burkitt's lymphoma , a highly aggressive but treatable form of blood Cancer when he was 13 that affects the bone marrow and can be cured in certain cases. He spent 8 months in hospital and he made a remarkably recovery, He is cancer free and considered cured since this type of Cancer may only come back after two years after discharge; beyond that chances are statistically non existent. He underwent chemo and one of the compounds he used is known for causing male infertility later in live, roughly at 25 and beyond. Chances are 50-50, so our oncologist decided to send him to a semen -or cryobank- for sperm collection and preservation.
