Cut, cut, cut

Ya man, in all honesty you just aren't lean enough which is what I suspected all along. Just tighten your diet up more and drop you bodyfat more and your abs will start popping. You are not in single digit bodyfat yet.

Also remember abs are built in the kitchen, not in the gym. It doesn't matter how much you work them and what exercises you do. They'll never pop until you're lean enough

at 9.6% you can still see abs to a pint but your not going to see a ton of them... to really see them hardcore, your going to need to get down in the 7% range at least.... abdominal exercises are not whats going to give you shredded abs... that is simply going to build the muscle size... here's some keys to abs

CARDIO - sweating, running, HIIT, swimming, stairclimbing, ellipticial, biking... If you REALLY want abs, you need to understand the cardio sacrifices you need to make

DIET - You need to understand diet makes up most of this to start with... this has to be extremely consistent, disciplined and dialed in... you have to be in special tune to make this happen

Sweating... you need to sweat... hit the sauna 4 times a week... bust your ass on cardio, sweat out toxins, lose any excess water etc...

you need to put in serious and continuous effort

I'm doing 25 min of cardio on the treadmill (speed 6.0-6.5).
And i'm not trying to be smart or something but i'm positive that 9.6% is low bf%. And it's much harder to cut from 11% to 9% than cutting from 20% to 18%

40 minutes on the treadmill. 15 to 25 isn't long enough and 6.0 speed is too fast.

9.6% bf is pretty low but you aren't at 9.6% (how do you come up with that specific .6 anyways?) You are like 13%bf. Drop another 6lbs of fat, and you'll be at about 10% with pretty good ab definition.

In all likelihood you are eating too much sugar/crap carbs and not enough protein.

View attachment 1106View attachment 1107Hello everyone! My name is Cristian, I'm 5'8, 165lb, 20 years old. I'm training since I was 15 but had some breaks in between. I've been cutting for 7 months now. I started at 11.9% bf last year in May and now i'm at 9.6%. I think my diet is good enough since i'm still continue cutting. I train 4 to 5 time a week and do cardio 15 to 25 min. MY PROBLEM IS that I still can't see my abs even with this bf %. I'm more than positive that the problem is not that I don't have enough muscle mass on the abdominals.

I would be very happy to get some sugetions and please bear with my English.

You are close bro. The best abs I ever had was when I was in my late teens still living at home on farm. I chopped all of the winter wood one summer. I chopped everyday for about 2 hours.I used an axe, a 16lb sledge hammer and a 3lb wedge.I would be so tired that I did not want to eat. It takes that kind of guts to get abs.
I have been able to keep my abs into my 60's with a strict diet, and core training. I do not do standard ab work anmore but still do heavy frontal squats and deads. You are almost there. At 9% BF your abs should be somewhat visible....but try getting an accurate measured BF...and then try to get to 6%. Be warned...it is not easy

Goodpoint D..if you are not sweating then you are not riding that bike hard and fast.

Yeah. These guys are all right as I see it. You aren't under 10%. As they said, you will need to sacrifice and do at least 45 min of cardio 5 days a week. Eat clean. Eat lean.

Ok guys that's all great advice. Thank you for taking from your time to answer. I said that i'm at 9.6% because that's what the gym staff said. They did the measurement there. They have a machine you holding with your thumbs up(they ask for age, weight etc.). Now you might be right and that thing is not that accurate. I'll try yo keep up the work and revise my cardio. Thank you again.

Right now i'm doing basic exercises like crunches, leg raises and between sets i'm doing planks, but over the years I done pretty much everything you can try for abs even that I didn't want to show abs at that time. I train abs 2 time a week.

2 times a week isn't nearly enough. You need to do them 3-4 times easy. You should have very sore abs as well if you're training them right. Plus what Dylan said.

So most accurate and detailed you will probably get is with a float test when it comes to body fat.

But don't worry too much about the bf% it's all subjective mostly.

I do know most machines like that are bs. And a lot of us will tell you the same. Shit I used one for fun messing around at the gym. That thing said I was like 40% bf. Hahaha idk te principle behind them at all but they are crazy inaccurate.

Your getting there man. Just look at cleaning up the diet. Work on the cardio and remeber all the cardio in the world is fine but the fundamental rule is muscle burns calories. more muscle you have, more calories you burn.

A lot of this has to do with genetics. There are many guys who will never have abs no matter diet or exercise. This s actually fairly common in men and absoultely common in women. I would not get hung up on it. If you have good muscle and good build and strong and healthy then that is good enough. Remember that starving men coming out of pow camps had abs. That is not what you want or need. Have a strong core and workout for the joy of it.

This right here.

that machine is not even close to accurate so dont judge by that... you most certainly can get to where you want but your not doing near the amount of work needed to get there

Bioelectric impedance fat analyzers like that are extremely inaccurate, so I wouldn't out a lot of stock into that. Just keep cutting more, tighten that diet up more, and kill the cardio.

You'll have abs popping in no time

Those things are pieces of crap. After my workout, I apparently gained 4%bf within the hour. Lol

They change drastically based on how hydrated you are. I have made them things show an 8% swing in one day
