Customs letter question

I got a letter from customs. It says to check either box 1 or box 2. Then mail to back. 1 being abandoning the gear. Obviously I'm doing that. My question is . Should I send the letter back? Or can I just throw it away?

Toss the letter. Write it off as a loss, and contact your source...or better yet go domestic next time so you don't have to worry about it
