You can't compare the two, there is 25 years of advancement in the sport after Arnold. Nutrition, drugs, equipment, supplements, knowledge, etc. Arnold did the absolute best with his physique in HIS era. If he competed with Ronnie I think he would have come out on top. Arnold had the hunger, the will, and the drive to win! That's why he was so successful in bodybuilding and in life. He is determined to win no matter what the challenge is
Yes it can be done. What it means to be a warrior and the martial arts skills of legendary fighters of the best whether old or new matters. What it means to be an artist has not changed but the materials and technology used has. What it means to be a architect or engineer has not changed. Or the pyramids would have crumbled and Leonardo da Vinci would not be considered one of the best. Yes it can be done. What it means to be a bodybuilder and best bodybuilder even if you can only compare them how they affected their own eras respectively.

I agree with this. If we're talking about overall appearance, the balance between size and condition in the golden era was very aesthetically pleasing.

Here's one of my fav's of all time next to the Oak. Arnold just had legs on him, but aesthetically I found Sergio to be more visually impressive. HOWEVER, my absolute favorite guy is Shawn Ray.

Amen to that. Frank Zane is the best aesthetic physique of all time in my opinion.....hands down

The golden ear was great but its still important too relize those guys pushed there bodys as far as they could when it came too steroids they were the pioneers they had no clue what they were doing there was no growth now guys are getting much bigger and people say they liked the other physiques but those guys got as big as they could if they had what we do now they would have been.just as massive. And I love both of them but Dorian is my fav. Ill doo 300 lb bent over rows 4 days a week too get that back
