Altitude training

well I do know a lot of fighters train there so when they come back down closer to sea level they have more lung capacity, like I said I am not going there just to train but will be training while I am there so it will be interesting to say the least. I will update. I mean the masks I think they look cool but I basically feel like that everyday anyway due to a constricted airway lol

The mask might be ... But.... I promise you will not come here for a week and train harder than you do at sea level. You will be winded walking up a flight of stairs I promise you. My buddy got altitude sickness skiing the first day , he flew in from TN then went straight to the slopes , he couldn't talk and pointed to the lodge and called it a day. Shit is no joke . After a day of acclimating , he was fine but he thought he was going to die. Also, drinking only a couple beers will get you buzzed like no other at high altitude.

I have to agree.

No, yeah I agree, I meant the mask or other forms of oxygen restriction at regular altitudes to prepare for being at high altitude is not really a good way to get ready. Trianing at altitude is obviously a valid way to prepare. Training at high altitude to get ready for sea level is absolutely a great way to train. I guess we were talking about different things.

yeah you just have to aclilmate. Everybody has there own differences as to when your body adjusts. You can't rush it

I've heard that training at altitude does have its benefits, it will be more difficult and give you an advantage while returning to sea level. But once you return back to your original altitude the effects are not permanent and will eventually fade away as your body readjusts.

ya i knew they wouldn't be permanent but maybe it will kinda shock my body a little and kickstart something lol like fat loss to 15% damnit

I remember going there when I was younger around 12 years old on vacation with my parents. We took a tour to the top of pikes peak and me and my brother started running around the gift shop at the top. It didn't take long before we were both laying on the ground completely gassed wondering why lol

My wife and I did the exact same thing just a couple years ago! We weren't even kids and did the same thing!

I will never forget my family going to pikes peak. There were people looking very faint, white as ghosts. My family was cardio trained and at the time could not figure what was going on.

Great memories I'm sure!

i remember going to colorado at the time i was running 10 miles a day... i played basketball in college and at the time i went, i was still playing about 4 days a week... i remember playing in a game outside and although i was outlasting everyone else, i remember thinking "wtf is going on here?" although i knew about the effect of the altitude it still bothered the shit out of me... of course, being as stubborn and strong willed as i am, i pushed through even harder but it was a little humbling internally.. its a great challenge though and will only be a benefit to anyone training there...

Ahahaha
