I have been reading different reasons we are all doing what we are doing and why we are here. I decide to add mine, so forgive if is a bit off topic! Ove 24 yeas ago I was in very bad motor vehicle accident. I was on motorcycle on autostradă when a auto jumped over into oncoming traffic and hit me straight on at 80 kilometres per hour (50 miles/hour for you Americans) throwing me 35 feet into the aire after I watch my left knee go through her radiator and headlights, breaking my hip, lower leg and crunching my ankle between my motor and her front bumper. I landed onto autostadă in front of oncoming traffic where I went under an oncoming Hyundai Sonata. When it was all over, I was broken in over 200 places. Repairs included several surgeries in first 3 weeks of being in hospital follow by 3 weeks of traction. Long storey to short, it was a male nurse who was ex military, blown out of a Humvee and run over by a supply truck behind crushing his hips in open book pelvic fracture, who fought to get his life back and help me find that inner Romanian Hoplite Warrior who fought back against total disability. I am now in medical school to be that kind of Otopaedic nurse he was for the next accident victim like me, and pay it forward. Is tough job to do and it requires working 12 hours at a time. Is very demanding and it is time to complete the next part of recovery for me, strength training. This is why am here, to hang with you guys who know more about this from experience. Am going to need all the energy, strength, skills, guts and mental capacity I can get. My goal? to be about 180CM tall, (5 feet 11) 95 to 97 KG weight (210/215 lbs) from current 89 KG (196 lbs).

Thanx! Have served as ER Nurse in training already. My second day, my next patient who was hit by a car while on bicycle. They rush her into ICU immediate and then paramedic came in seconds latre. Hands me what looks like camping cooler, but is made for body parts. He says-get this to doctors right away, right now. it was her left leg broken off 8 inches above the ankle. They successfully re attach it, but now she is going to need a lot of help! At least they saved her leg, but this is where I come in. Convince her she can run that Boston marathon, but it will require hard work!

So am glad to have these skills and learn more, but guys, please do not do anything dumb that brings you in to me, ok?

Crazy story bro!

You should see some things I do bro. Young man on motorcycle comes in with helmet on, good pair of gloves. But he was in a hurry and jumped on bike of his with flip flops on. He laid it down to avoid hitting the truck in front of him, but where riding boots would have saved him from serious injury? Flip flops did not and all his metatarsal bones on his foot were broken backward. His foot will heal, in about 6 weeks and he will be in physical therapy to learn to walk on it again. My recovery to walk took a year.

Simetimes is feels like being on front line, and we are. Sometimes is boring and slow. Then alarms go off and we are warned "3 minutes out! Multiple vehicle crash x number of victims on the way. Be ready to triage! Everyone at your station, crash carts ready"! And shit hits the fan.
