Water retention and fatigue

Senior Member
OK guys I've been doing my work out routines like normal, keeping up with my meal plans drinking all my water, but I've been noticing a lot of edema in my lower legs and fatigue, what can be causing this? In good news i dropped another pant size I'm down from a 68 to 58 that's 6 pant sizes in 3years!!

Could be from standing too long, or too much salt. Sometimes in an overtrained mode they will swell also. So have you been doing more standing cardio than usual? Also check your boold pressure. You can wear compression socks, but if it persists you need to see a doc and get diuretics

Yes I have been standing up longer because of school and walking around the campus, I know its not the salt because I've been monitoring everything I eat. This retention is bothering me and it gets me fatigue tho.

well try those compression socks that come up to the knee. They are great for edema due to standing. Get the light or moderate compression. The more compression the better they work but the harder to get on and off

Great job on your progress! As for your water retention in your lower legs issue, I agree with dry on this. Getting some compression socks may help you out. Give them a shot

WOW, you're describing exactly what I was suffering this summer. You should post your full schedule and diet, bro.

hmm..sounds like possible swelling - either too much weight or too much sodium or both? how much sodium do you intake daily? maybe poor circulation as well. has this gotten better or worse since you have lost weight?
