Vitamin B12 is "anabolic"??

What's up everyone, I have been doing a lot of studying on nutrition and vitamins. I've been especially studying the effects on B12 and it's effects on the body. Even though vitamin b12 does NOT build muscle, having a high concentraiton of red blood cells allows the individual to carry more oxygen per unit volume, leading to an increased performance. This ability of a high red blood cell count can be exploited using a technique called blood doping. This process involves an individual to withdrawl a volume of redblood cells days before an event. Up until the event, the individual regains these lost red blood cells and returns to normal. The withdrawn blood cells are then re injected, resulting in a higher concentration of red blood cells, leading to increased performance. The main function of red blood cells in exercise is the transport of O2 from the lungs to the tissues and the delivery of metabolically produced CO2*to the lungsfor expiration. Hemoglobin also contributes to the blood's buffering capacity, and ATP and NO release from red blood cells during exercise the cardiovascular system has to warrant substrate supply to working muscle. The main function of red blood cells in exercise is the transport of O2*from the lungs to the tissues and the delivery of metabolically produced CO2*to the lungs for expiration. Hemoglobin also contributes to the blood's buffering capacity, and ATP and NO release from red blood cells contributes to vasodilation and improved blood flow to working muscle which in turn produces a stronger functioning muscle that WILL grow because of adequate O2 delivery.
Bodybuilders of course could usually care less about blood doping, however we do occasionally make note of the fact that steroids do enhance erythropoiesis. Although you most often hear talk of heightened RBC production with*anadrol and*EQ *in particular, this effect is not unique to these drugs. In fact all anabolic/androgenic steroids share this ability to one degree or another, usually in direct proportion to the anabolic capacity of the compound. This is due to the fact that the kidneys share a similar enzyme distribution to the muscles, namely high levels of 3alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase enzymes and little 5alpha-reductase. These two enzymes are the primary force in the disassociation of the androgenic and anabolic properties of various compounds, as they serve to alter their activity in specific target tissues. Renal tissue therefore respond to androgen stimulation on a very similar level to muscle tissue.
This is just my thought and study B12 through my sources and literature. I have noticed better pumps and awesome energy from B12. So if that can give us the edge to gaining muscle, I say go for it. I love it and I recommend it to all athletes. I hope you guys and gals enjoy this and can gain from my study!
Add some B12 in your life!!!!!

Welllll I mean technically I suppose you could say that. If you look at it that way all vitamins are anabolic. It's not going to boost your RBC enough to get an edge on someone who is also getting sufficient vitamins in their diet though. Like EQ it may cause a higher appetite.

Probably a better term would be "energetic".

B12 and folic acid both support the formation of healthy red blood cells.

Of course, blood doping with EPO - Erythropoietin directly which stimulates the creation of red cells - has far been the standard for this kind of thing. But it's the hemoglobin that truly reflects the oxygen carrying capacity of the cells, and having more cells with less than ideal hemoglobin or cell volume really doesn't do much for endurance. Plus there's the point of no return when hematocrit rises too, which will do more harm than good.

Then comes things the issues of which polycythemia rubra vera would normally be responsible for. Similar things to having high blood pressure - will actually hinder performance. You'll be tired, out of breathe etc etc.

One of the best things about steroids is that they increase RBC counts in most cases.

Nice bit of info, though I will say it's not anything I would expect any kind of major groundbreaking edge on or anything. However it does have its benefits. There's actually a lot of vitamins and minerals, that if you broke the, down into what they do exactly would be considered anabolic. Point being that a balanced diet and proper intake of the right macro and micro nutrients are the key component to growth, recovery, performance, etc...

Hey man when I worked at gnc they taught us all kinds of fancy ways to convince customers everything was anabolic in some indirect way.

I pin like 1.5cc's of it every so often just to give myself an energy boost. It is, when fatigued, a good kick in the seat of the pants mentally and has allowed me to push my way thru some grueling workouts with enthusiasm and ease.
