Starting My TRT for the First Time

Hi Dylan,

Thank you for all your YouTube videos that you put out! I find it super helpful.

I am 38 years old and I'm starting my TRT program (with my doctor's supervision of course) next week. My current testosterone levels are in the low 300s so I'm definitely a candidate for TRT.

My question to you is: my doctor wants to put me on 1 cc per week using test cypionate along with anastrozole for estrogen blocker which I believe is fine according to your videos but my doctor wants me to be on HCG at the same time which does not jive with what you talk about on your videos.

What I've learned so far in my research about being on TRT is that HCG sends a signal to the body to turn on the production of natural test but the cyp tells the body to turn off the natural production of test. Taking both simultaneously are sending two different signals to my body.

1) Why would my doctor put me on a program like that?

2) Is my doctor's plan safe?

3) Are there any serious dangers health wise following my doctor's plan?

4) My doctor says if I don't follow his program to the T then I can't be on the program.

5) Also he says I don't need to cycle off? Is that safe? Wouldn't that desensitize my receptors?

6) Being on testosterone causes red blood cells to increase which thickens my blood. They advise I donate blood every two months to prevent side effects. Do you agree?

Sorry for the long email. I just want to make sure I do this the right way the first time. I'm married and have three kids, the last thing I want is health problems. :)

Dylan, thank you for your time in advance. Have a great 4th of July!!!!

Hey man. Welcome. 1. Some doctors do, some don't, some give you the choice.
2. Yes it's safe.
3. Not that I have found yet. I had the option to and held off. Many docs will offer HCG if you want to still have kids.
4. Sounds like a dick that gets hard on control. You might want to remind him that he's one of several million docs.
5. A trt dose is fine to continue nonstop. Receptors aren't going to desensitize with that.
6. Absolutely donate blood. Healthy for you and you save lives.
Don't worry about asking too much. That's what we are here for bro. Share the knowledge.

Saiyan got you covered and i agree with him on all points. I am 37 and was put on TRT a few years ago cause my test levels were in the upper 200's. Different doctors will run different protocols and some will know more than others regarding TRT. My doctor only provides me with prescription for test and i inject myself. He knew nothing about an estrogen blocker or hcg when i asked him so i take an AI on my own. In fact i was told very little besides here you go inject this and i will see you in a few months for follow up labs. Thats how i ended up on this forum...to educate myself.

A doctor that lets you inject yourself is the best option. Some make you go in once a week to get the injections- usually clinics- and in my opinion is just a way to charge more money.

Testosterone can raise RBC, but fortunately has not done so in my case as i can not donate. I ran a test cycle around 350mg and my RBC did not increase either. However, i ran Deca at 200mg and my hematocrit rose 4 points in 5 weeks. I said all that to say generally test will raise RBC in some, but not always. Diet and hydration are a factor as well. You can donate so you are covered plus it is healthy and helps others.

Currently having low t, you are going to feel much better once you start TRT and your levels come up. It was a complete life changer for me.

The protocol the doctor wants to put you on is pretty normal. There is no cycling off of TRT. it's a lifetime commitment if you are low. Androgen receptors don't desensitize. It's myostatin that rises when you run superphysiological doses. That's not the case with TRT. HCG really isn't necessary with TRT unless you plan to have kids at some point. If not there's really no point. At any case it's not good to use it continuously. It needs ran in short durations of 4 weeks or so every three months

Hey guys thank you for the fast responses. I really appreciate your input. Now I feel better about the program that my doctor is putting me in.

Can any of you guys shed some light as far as what I can expect for the first year that I will be on TRT in terms of muscle gains given that my diet and training is on point? Just to give you a little bit of an idea of what I look like I am currently at 200 pounds and my height is 5'8. Last time I was in the gym was about 2 1/2 years ago. I've been weight training for over 15 years off and on so I have a lot of catching up to do.

We can't really tell you what you will gain bro. It's entirely dependant on what you do, your genetics, and how you respond to it.

What dose of AI? As far as muscle gains, you are only going to be brought up to the high normal range, how many guys in their early 20's with test at its peak look like shit...

I put on 25 lbs in 6 months of trt lol. I went from 400 to 1000 and things took off.

Hello gentlemen! I hope you all are having a great day so far.

I have a quick question for you guys. My doctor is providing me with test cyp with anastrozole already infused with the testosterone. I'm supposed to inject 1 cc a week of test cyp. If the AI is already infused with the testosterone, how do I really know how much test and how much AI I'm injecting into my body? Aren't they supposed to be separate?

Never heard of test infused with anastrozole bro. But if it is, which is kind of absurd lol, then it will tell you on the bottle. First rule is drop the "take 1cc" and tell us mg. Now most docs give 200mg per ml so at this point we can assume you mean 200mg per week which is a high trt level but not overboard.

That's pretty messed up. Never heard of it, but I think it's a terrible idea being locked into a certain given dosage for a given dosage of test. What are the concentrations?

Yes, 200mg. I will drop the CC lingo from now on. Thank you for the advice.
