Bigirv84 said:I would try to avoid protein bars as much as possible, especially most of the store bought ones. Many are full of sugar and sodium. About the only ones that are decent are ansi bars or quest bars. I would even avoid those as much as you can and opt for more whole food sources and use a protein shake where added protein beyond your normal food intake is needed.
There may be some decent options out there for homemade bars, but I don't personally have a recipe for any

That's solid advice. After too much hit and miss we only ever buy 20kg bags that are sealed from the actual manufacturer... it's heaps cheaper and there's no question about what's in thereRickRock said:If you are going to use a protein powder you need to look at the label on it also. Many of those also have fillers and extra sugar or fats in them. It's important to find a good quality protein

FAR too many overlook sodium and sugars in these or fail to read the label below the label that list "other ingredients" etc... you MUST read everything in detail to gauge what your actually taking in... most cannot tolerate shopping with me.. i am the ultimate analyzer of labels

yes bro, all those proteins you have written on are extremely poor choices.. i truly think muscle milk and cyto sport in general is probably the worst company in the mainstream you could go with... if you are looking for a RARE and i mean RARE protein bar that is actually good for you, then there are a few options...
ansi cheesecake bars and the gnc advance total lean bar... these are the two that i have found that have it right top to bottom... even quest is very flawed with the ridiculous amounts of sodium they have...
you definitely need to look at different protein powder options... check out http://www.rawdynamix.com... they have some of the best quality i have had...
