Marijuana and Gyno

I've had gyno for at least 6-7 years now.. At first the doc said it was due to puberty and it would go away naturally. Then I was an idiot and my younger years and messed around with prohormones. Which worsened it and grew on both sides. Well anyways, finally am getting gyno surgery tomorrow! Dylan set me up with a anti-gyno program months ago that I gave a go, and while it did help a little ( and i'm sure would work on someone who hasn't had hardened tissue for years) it did not completely remove it and I was still uncomfortable with it. So, for the past few years i've also smoked pot on and off, more in the past year than ever. Would smoke almost every day but not crazy amounts. Just enough to get me right, like .2-.5g's a day, Tops. When I first visited the surgeon about a month ago to talk about the procedure, my mother asked the doc what causes it? (He is also highly reputable, practicing for many years and has done hundreds of these surgeries) He responded saying that of course it is more prevalent in overweight men (which i am not), and that alcohol and marijuana are contributors. and that there is an epidemic going on in Colorado supposedly. So does marijuana cause gynecomastia? If it does, why doesn't snoop dogg and wiz khalifa have double D's? lmao. I do enjoy smoking from time to time and haven't done it as much as I used to. While I tried to do my own research, apparently there is no true correlation between pot and gyno, although they did a study in the military and it showed that pot could alter your test levels. Also my opinion is that potheads are usually lazy, and usually not bodybuilders, and eat unhealthy and fatty foods. which contribute to it? thoughts?

Bro...you're overthinking the weed thing. All of what you said is supposedly true about the correlation of weed to gyno, but so do certain prescription anti-depressants and foods... I used to smoke a quarter pound a day in my time and now that I think of it had puberty nips to some degree ever since. I haven't lit one up since 1994 although it is tempting to do so. If you enjoy a toke or twelve then enjoy what you do and do what you enjoy. Just use an AI man...simple fix and still able to get the munchies.

I've read that it could possibly lower your natural testosterone production along with a whole slew of other things.Alcohol & pain killers(opiates) are a couple that I know of.I've never heard of it causing gyno though.

I live in Colorado and this is the first I've ever heard the word epidemic about gyno and pot use and I've seen a lot and read a lot about the subject . Trust me , I don't see dudes with gyno here at all , completely ridiculous . Colorado in general is a really healthy place and we have super active people here . I laughed out loud when I read this because I have seriously never heard that here once. There are just so many myths out there and propaganda against pot still that it's just absurd. Blame the pro-hormones not the pot my friend .

If I lived up there I'd be high as fuck lifting probably

I call bullshit. People pass around a rumor that it raises estrogen too and I don't believe it. I smoked several times a day for about the last 6 years straight and never had an issue. I know lots of smokers who also have no issues.

I assume you mean a quarter ounce. A QP a day is like at least a $500-$700 a day habit lol

I haven't smoked any weed in over 20 years so I wouldn't know exactly, but I can't see any correlation to be honest.

http://www.medicaldaily.com/man-boobs-and-marijuana-thc-proven-cause-moobs-264488

animal studies provide evidence that exposure to delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active ingredient in marijuana, can decrease testosterone levels while also generally affecting the endocrine system. These findings only apply to the animals under observation and human studies are not at all conclusive

http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/gynecomastia/basics/causes/con-20028710

Substances that can(?) cause gynecomastia include:

Alcohol
Amphetamines
Marijuana
Heroin
Methadone

“Although the association between marijuana and gynecomastia hasn't been conclusively proven, it appears very plausible,” writes Dr Youn.

In short there is no conclusive evidence that marijuana causes gyno. It's all hearsay & circumstantial bullshit as far as I can see.

Not everybody will get full blown gyno from smoking, just like not everybody gets gyno from using gear. Same concept

I know I was just messing around. Thanks for the info bro.I learn something new everyday.

It only states the use in animals and says chronic use which is not defined at all. This is also from 1984 during the Reagan admins drug war era. I'll take it with a grain of salt. I'm not dismissing your experience at all but I would like to think this is super rare and could be more circumstances to it than just thc.

Bro, that is a .GOV study. Man, woman or animal is the same.

And unless you can find a study that is more official this is about as accurate proof there is any .GOV site

Ive smoked for over 25 yrs. When i was younger i smoked everyday all day. I have never had gyno and i know worse weedheads than me and ive never seen them get it either. I think ur dr has a seperate political agenda....or perhaps watched too much reefer madness in med school as a learning instrument on marijuana
