is to much red meat bad

Bigirv84

Member
I have a weekly meal plan I do wanted to know if I should drop the red meat

7am 3 boil eggs
10am small bowl of red grapes
1pm crackers
4pm white chicken meat/ or turkey wings bake in the oven
7pm skirt steak/ or small ny stri steak
10pm protein shak

I wouldn't think your beef intake is excessive.. what are your stats and current goals though?

Grapes and crackers might cause a rapid insulin spike and issue with blood sugar - are they in there for a reason? (ie training time etc)

dude i saw your meal plan earlier and I don't think it is good for you. it needs to be refined. its too spaced out and sporatic, like 3 eggs at 7am and then 3 hrs later some grapes? it doesnt make sense, its like a puzzle with jagged pieces..

you arent eating that many cals so i would drop the protein shake, you can get enough protein from real foods and it will save you money.

the crackers have to go - that is just empty carbs and salt, No Bueno.

red meat is ok but i wouldnt make it a part of your daily diet, you are trying to shred man. Get Tuna and Tilapia and Chicken Breast and you are good to go.

to fix this diet we really need your stats, like age, height, weight, BF %, etc. then we can break down your macros and caloric intake and go from there..

If I remember right, you are a pretty big out of shape guy. I would much rather see you replace the steak with a leaner meat since fat loss is your goal. The rest of your diet needs work too. You need more protein in there, and some different carb sources other than crackers. You should drop those and replace it with rice or a sweet potato. I would start the day off with egg whites and maybe a couple whole eggs

Like everyone else has said, this diet is off by a mile. You need much more protein, drop the crackers and grapes. Double those eggs in the morning.

Grapes and crackers are useless. Beef once or twice per week. Get some cans and packs of tuna in there, munch on celery and carrot sticks thru the day. Get a big roll of salmon and have some ed or eod. I don't know what is in your shake, but I do not use powder that smells like ice cream. Use eggwhites. I buy 6 quarts per week and freeze them.

lean turkey, not fried, lean chicken breasts, very lean ground beef - you can try these for alternatives to Fish. Are you allergic to Tilapia?

Allergic means that when you eat something then you break out in a rash or become air headed and not with it.Maybe hives too. So are you allergic to tuna or salmon or do you just not like it? I work outside a lot and I carry carrots, celery, bell pepper chunks, and , pouch tuna, home made jerkey and cans of chicken.

So is a low sodium low carb protein bar bro

Grapes and crackers are for children. You need more good foods. Plus dark meat turkey wings are no good. Boneless skinless breasts with low cal low sodium seasonings. Tuna or whitw fish like cod or talapia. The beef is ok but if cutting stay away from the fatty steaks. Do more sirloin or london broil. Less fats. Also boiled eggs in the am. No go on that should be eggwhites only. All the fat and cholesterol in the yolks. Which are on cheat days but not everyday.

Just to echo the good points raised by pretty much everyone in this thread, the second and third meal are destroying your diet.

Everything else looks good to me personally, but as drb said, leaner protein source might be even better than steak and I agree with that given the number of feeds each day. If you went full retard and did steak and egg strongman diet for two feeds each day there would be little problem with the red meat IMO.

Honestly man the diet looks ok other than the grapes and crackers. If you're already in the swing of it just change that part, or (and I'm going to get flamed for this) you could double your breakfast to 6 eggs and skip meal 2 and 3 altogether if fatloss is your goal.

The phylosophy is 1gram protein per pound of body weight. Some say 2grams but thats excessive 1g per pound is plenty.
