GH is a stress hormone?

Who'd have thunk it?! National Academy of Sports Medicine says growth hormone is a stress hormone. I suppose it's because it's needed to spare protein breakdown for energy and use glycogen instead for fight or flight response. Weird huh?!

Lol! Touché! I've always thought of stress hormones as catabolic so it's strange to see GH classified as one. It does cause rapid release of glycogen for energy but I've always thought of catabolism as muscle wasting. Apparently they don't have to be.

Lol, yes fasts can certainly be stressful. I did IF for a couple years and I remember it quite well
