Any problems with using Creatine while on cycle?

MrChristian

Hi team,

I'm used to taking 5g of Creatine pre workout and 5g post workout when bulking. Does anyone know if this is a good or bad idea while on cycle? How about during PCT? What do you guys typically do?

Thanks!
Christian

Creatine is a needed supplement. No harm to take it on cycle. I would use a more advanced formula than the old school monohydrate which looks like thats what ur using. Under the supplement section dylan has a nice write up on the different creatine forms and what they can help u do

Creatine is found in different meats and food. It's fine and encouraged to take all of the time, on cycle and off, just like protein

Thanks Rick. Yea, I know it's found in certain meats. I saw someone on here mentioning starting back up with creatine during PCT, so that made me wonder if there was some concern with taking it during the actual cycle. I didn't know if the extra water retention was a bad thing, etc.

Thanks for clearing this up. :)

If you are going to do a cycle then stop creatine. You will not feel it or need it. It is good to get off of from time to time when it seems to stop working. The biggest reason I stop while on cycle is because when I come off cycle I at least have something to begin using. I use creatine as a bridge. Regular old creatine works just fine if you are going to use it everyday. I take 15 grams /day. I also make a gummy type candy with creatine and eat then through out the day. If you are going to use it everyday for a strength gain, then don't overly worry about the form. I have tried them all and for the long haul I like regular ol gritty monohydrate. You have to have something to look forward when coming off cycle. Juice trumps EVERYTHING

I understand your position with this, but it's actually very beneficial to stay on creatine while cycling. The extra intercellular water helps significantly while on the extra androgens, and creatine supplementation is something that you can ALWAYS benefit from. Contrary to what a lot of belief is out there, there is absolutely no need to ever come off of it or cycle off of it. Your body will adapt to creatine, just the same as it will not adapt to any amino acid or anything else that can be found in food. I have cycled both with and without creatine, and my cycles are definitely more enhanced with creatine still included in them

Water retention from creatine is only at the cellular level by causing 100% saturation of the muscle cell. It does not cause any sub-q water retention as this is not how creatine works at all. Water will be all within the muscle, which is exactly what you want giving a fuller appearance as well

yes just make sure you drink extra water with the extra creatine - it can be hard on the kidneys from my experience, if you dont drink tons of water

Sounds good. I drink water like a mad man all day long. In fact, it's the only thing I drink. :)

Great information Rick! I didn't know this. Thanks again!

Just try it out for yourself. That is your answer. For me creatine becomes old hat. A nice 3 month off and then start again lets me feel the hit just like the first time I used it. Plus coming off cycle I want something to look forward to. Experiment for yourself and you decide. That is what I like about having a diary. You become self sufficient. Just as people always laughed at me because I like 250 sus + 250 cyp over 500 mg of either on their own. I have it written down more than once in the diary. You are starting a new chapter in your life now, so keep a record of everything that you do. Then when you need answers you have the most important ones..i.e...the ones that apply to YOU!
