This JUST in. What the fitness community has loooong been preaching to all the whiny bitches saying "running/lifting killed this one guy" saying this is unhealthy.
A MEGA study, released this past Sunday in the New England Journal of Medicine's cardiology segment (NEJM) investigating over 50,000 Americans with a measure of genetic risk for developing cardio-vascular diseases found, that if you have a 1st degree relative (father, mother, sibling) that had experienced a heart attack or heart disease, you may be exposed to up to 91% relative risk to develop such a condition based on your genetics...
BUT...
If you are such a person, with such a genetic risk, with family background of cardiovascular disease - a healthy lifestyle may be associated with chopping down your risk of ever experiencing such a condition in nearly half!
IN FACT, it is the conclusion of this publication that you may be able to entirely offset your genetic potential to developing such conditions simply by adopting a healthy lifestyle:

Do you have a condition?
Do you have a family member that has/had one?
Are you afraid of dying prematurely?
