I will say right away that if you have a schedule with changes and unpredictable situations, Shifton is quite good. This application offers two options for working with schedules - automatic and manual. For example, you can set recurring shifts that will be automatically distributed across days. This is convenient if you have standard shifts that are often repeated. But the main feature is that the system is flexible enough to allow manual changes at any time. As for frequent adjustments, shift schedule online copes with this no worse than other systems. For example, if someone gets sick or cannot go to work, you can simply redistribute shifts, and the system will automatically notify all employees about new changes. In addition, it is possible to customize the schedule in such a way that it takes into account different restrictions for each employee. For example, you can program the system so that it does not assign one person too many shifts in a row or does not put them on night shifts without a break. However, there are some points that are worth considering. Firstly, with a large number of employees and constant changes, the system sometimes starts to get a little confused with intersections if you do not set up all the parameters correctly in advance. That is, if one employee suddenly cannot go on a certain day, the system can offer several options, but they are not always ideal. Here you already need to intervene a little manually.
I also recently started using Shifton to schedule shifts in our team, and I generally like the app. But here's what I noticed: sometimes the system doesn't take into account all the employee restrictions perfectly, especially when it comes to frequent changes in the schedule. If there are serious adjustments, you need to check manually so that it doesn't turn out that someone is working too much or at inconvenient times. But overall, as a system for optimizing processes, it's pretty good.
