First Night as a NY resident

My cousins are both sober now thank god. Just sad for them for what they went through for a fix. Brings a whole new understanding to the drug problem when family members are involved. I dont keep it a secret that I went down that same path for some time. Years I shot a brick of heroin a day and I thank god everyday for where I am now with no repercussions

I hear you bro. I just got done doing 2 years in a ny prison because of my addiction. But lifting weights has saved my life. I have a new addiction to lifting and I don't care if people say you can't replace one addiction with another. Glad to hear you are sober as well.

The more I gain in the weight room the more I forget about drugs and alcohol. Gotta completely turn your life around and live healthy and clean. Glad you got sober as well. Sounds like you had a real nasty habit. The dope sickness is horrible from that kind of habit. I have been there also bro. Glad to have others on the forum that understand where I'm coming from.

Same with me man. The more gains and the more I learn the less and less drugs seem appealing

I too am a recovering addict... Things are crazy here in South FL... Everything is easily accessible. Almost 2 years clean. Life is good!! Ran a Half Marathon earlier this year and numerous 5 & 10Ks focused on rebuilding myself. Mind, body, & spirit... Glad to see my AR brothers doing it too!! Much love to my AR Family!!

LET EM HATE... THEY JUST NV US

Reply if you want I understand if you don't. What was the appeal? I mean Heroin is the Devil its not known for being anything but a utterly blackhole of despair. Just glad you guys made it without major reprcusions

Well sadly pain killers from surgery lead me to see how much I liked opiates. I had my miniscus removed at age 20 and then dabbled with percocet until I was addicted. Prescription pain killers are so readily available and once I was hooked and couldnt afford it anymore... some WONDERFUL friend suggested I try heroin. And that continued the downward spiral

Same except I had broken my hand at about 22. I got jumped and broke it on one of them defending myself.

Ex- Opiate addict here to man. Started with a meniscus surgery just like you too. Went on for years, and years....uhg. I never in a million years would have thought it would be me, but them one day....SMACK...i realized "I needed them".
Never graduated to H though. I have an identical twin who lost everything to it. Hes still alive, dying of cirrhosis...just fading away. Knowing that the family will be burying him before the year is out is enough for me to never try it.
